The university values collaboration, diversity, and community engagement in all aspects of campus life.Role Description The Lecturer in Cyber Security will deliver undergraduate and postgraduate modules in cyber security and related computing disciplines, ensuring engaging, up-to-date, and industry-relevant teaching. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, labs, and assessments; supervising projects; providing academic advising; and offering constructive feedback to support student success. The lecturer will participate in curriculum development, contribute to program quality assurance processes, and engage in scholarly, research, or professional activities in the cyber security field. The role also involves collaborating with colleagues, supporting outreach and industry partnerships, and contributing to departmental and university initiatives. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Bath Spa University’s RAK Campus in Ras Al Khaimah.QualificationsRelevant academic background, a PhD degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Security, or a closely related discipline.Demonstrated expertise in core cyber security domains such as network security, secure coding, ethical hacking, digital forensics, risk management, or security governance.Experience in higher education teaching, including course design, delivery of lectures and labs, assessment development, and use of modern teaching and learning technologies.Ability to integrate practical, real-world examples into teaching, with familiarity with current industry tools, standards, and best practices in cyber security.Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support a diverse student body and work effectively in a multicultural academic environment.Evidence of research, scholarly work, or professional engagement in cyber security, including publications, industry projects, certifications, or conference participation.Commitment to student-centered learning, continuous improvement, and contribution to program development, accreditation, and quality assurance processes.Professional certifications in cyber security (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CISM, CompTIA Security+) are highly advantageous.
