IAU delivers world-class education in agriculture and related disciplines for learners in Central Asia, with graduates receiving a diploma from a respected British university. The university offers a wide range of programs, including Agriculture, Business Management, Agrologistics, Agroeconomics, Food Safety Management, Crop Production Management, Livestock Production Management, and Farm Business Management. Instruction is primarily in English, supported by a Foundation year for students who wish to strengthen subject knowledge and language proficiency. IAU has an internationally diverse faculty and provides internships in renowned foreign institutes and agri-food companies in Europe.Role Description The Lecturer in Smart Sustainable Agriculture is a full-time, on-site role based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The lecturer will design, deliver, and update modules related to smart technologies, sustainability, and innovative practices in agriculture, ensuring alignment with international academic standards. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and teaching lectures, seminars, and practical sessions; developing learning materials; supervising student projects and dissertations; and providing academic advising and mentoring. The role also involves engaging in curriculum development, participating in research and scholarly activities, collaborating with colleagues on interdisciplinary initiatives, and contributing to quality assurance processes. Additional responsibilities include supporting outreach, industry partnerships, and internship activities that strengthen the link between academic learning and real-world agricultural practice.Qualifications Strong subject-matter expertise in sustainable agriculture, smart farming technologies (e.g., precision agriculture, digital agriculture tools), and related environmental management practices.Demonstrated skills in university-level teaching, curriculum design, assessment development, and student supervision in agriculture or closely related fields.Experience with applied research, data analysis in agricultural contexts, and dissemination of results through publications, conferences, or industry collaboration.Excellent communication, presentation, and academic writing skills in English, with the ability to teach and support a diverse, multicultural student body.Proficiency in using educational technologies, learning management systems, and digital tools that support interactive and practice-oriented teaching.A relevant postgraduate degree (Master’s required; PhD preferred) in Agriculture, Agronomy, Environmental Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related discipline.Professional experience in agricultural projects, farms, agri-businesses, or research centers, particularly in sustainability or smart agriculture, is highly desirable.Ability to work collaboratively within an international faculty team, contribute to institutional development, and support industry and community engagement initiatives.
