Job Purpose Deliver rigorous, student-centered undergraduate mathematics education and help strengthen the Department’s teaching culture, curriculum, and academic community.About the Role The Department seeks teaching-focused faculty at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level. The role primarily supports foundational and service mathematics courses across Khalifa University, including calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, probability, statistics, discrete mathematics, and courses serving engineering, computing, and science programs.ResponsibilitiesTeach assigned undergraduate mathematics courses.Develop and maintain course materials, syllabi, assessments, and instructional resources.Deliver clear, engaging instruction to students with varied mathematical backgrounds.Contribute to coordinated multi-section courses and consistent academic standards.Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback.Provide office hours, tutoring, advising, and other academic support.Use suitable instructional technology and computational tools, such as Python where appropriate.Contribute to curriculum review, course development, outreach, student success, and academic service.QualificationsMaster’s degree in mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related discipline.For Lecturer: strong mathematical preparation, potential for excellence in university teaching, effective communication, and commitment to student learning; university teaching experience is desirable.For Senior Lecturer: substantial record of successful university-level teaching, excellence in assessment and student engagement, and experience in course coordination, curriculum development, or educational leadership.Familiarity with relevant instructional technologies and computational tools is desirable.Collegiality, reliability, clarity of exposition, and a strong commitment to undergraduate mathematics education.Application MaterialsApplicants should submit the following:Cover letter indicating the rank sought and explaining the candidate's interest in and fit with the Department.Curriculum Vitae, including teaching experience and relevant academic or professional activities.Teaching Statement (1–2 pages) describing teaching philosophy, experience, approaches to student engagement, and courses the candidate could contribute to the Department.Evidence of teaching effectiveness, where available, such as teaching evaluations, peer observations, sample course materials, or other relevant documentation.Names and contact details of at least three references.
