قدّم وتابع مع أبلاي إيدجJob DescriptionThe Sports Lecturer / Programme Leader is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and academic leadership for sports-related programmes at ICMS University College. The role combines teaching, programme management, curriculum development, student mentoring, quality assurance, industry engagement, and academic administration.The successful candidate will provide leadership in ensuring that the programme remains academically relevant, industry-focused, compliant with regulatory requirements, and aligned with the University's commitment to producing career-ready graduates.The Programme Leader will work closely with lecturers, academic management, students, industry partners, and relevant professional or regulatory bodies to continuously strengthen the quality and market relevance of the sports programmes.Key Responsibilities1. Teaching & LearningDeliver lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, workshops, and other learning activities in sports-related subjects.Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, assessments, and learning resources.Apply engaging and student-centred teaching methodologies.Integrate practical, industry-based, and experiential learning into the curriculum.Assess student coursework, examinations, projects, presentations, and practical performance.Provide academic consultation, mentoring, and guidance to students.Monitor student academic performance, attendance, progression, and engagement.2. Programme Leadership & ManagementLead and oversee the overall academic delivery of the assigned sports programme.Coordinate lecturers and subject allocation for each academic semester.Ensure teaching schedules, assessment plans, course files, and academic documentation are completed according to institutional requirements.Conduct regular programme and academic team meetings.Monitor programme performance, student retention, progression, and completion rates.Identify academic or operational issues and recommend appropriate improvement actions.Support student orientation, academic briefing, programme activities, and graduation preparation.3. Curriculum Development & ReviewReview and continuously improve programme curriculum and course content.Ensure curriculum remains relevant to current developments within the sports, fitness, coaching, sports management, and related industries.Participate in curriculum mapping, programme review, and development of new academic programmes.Incorporate industry trends, technology, professional practices, and employability skills into teaching and programme design.Work with industry representatives and academic partners to strengthen programme relevance.4. Academic Quality AssuranceEnsure the programme complies with institutional academic policies and applicable MQA, MOHE/KPT and other regulatory requirements.Maintain complete programme and course documentation for audit and accreditation purposes.Coordinate preparation for programme monitoring, accreditation, quality reviews, and academic audits.Monitor Course Learning Outcomes (CLO), Programme Learning Outcomes (PLO), assessment performance, and continuous quality improvement activities.Ensure lecturers comply with academic documentation and assessment requirements.5. Student DevelopmentMentor students in academic, professional, and career development.Support students participating in sporting competitions, industry activities, internships, projects, clubs, and university events.Encourage student participation in professional development, leadership, teamwork, and community engagement.Assist students in developing pathways towards employment, further education, professional certifications, or careers within the sports industry.6. Industry Engagement & EmployabilityBuild and maintain relationships with sports organisations, clubs, academies, associations, government agencies, and industry partners.Identify opportunities for internships, industrial training, guest lectures, workshops, competitions, site visits, and collaborative projects.Support institutional partnerships and industry engagement initiatives.Ensure students receive appropriate exposure to real-world sports industry practices.7. Research & Professional DevelopmentParticipate in research, publication, consultancy, academic conferences, and knowledge-sharing activities where applicable.Maintain awareness of developments and emerging trends within sports education and the sports industry.Participate in professional development programmes, training, seminars, and academic activities.Contribute to institutional research and academic development initiatives.8. Recruitment & Institutional ActivitiesSupport student recruitment activities including Open Days, education fairs, programme previews, school visits, and academic consultations.Provide programme information and academic guidance to prospective students and parents.Participate in university events, student activities, sporting events, and promotional programmes.Support marketing teams with accurate academic and programme-related information when required.QualificationsMinimum Bachelor or Master's Degree (preferred) in Sports Science, Sports Management, Physical Education, Exercise Science, Coaching, Sports Studies or a related field.Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree should preferably be relevant to the programme or teaching discipline.Candidates with professional certifications or recognised sports qualifications will have an added advantage.Previous teaching experience at tertiary level for at least 1 year.Experience in programme coordination, academic leadership, curriculum development, or quality assurance will be an advantage.Relevant experience within the sports industry, sports associations, clubs, academies, fitness organisations, or coaching environment is highly desirable.Skills & CompetenciesThe candidate should possess:Strong knowledge of the sports and education sectors.Excellent teaching and presentation skills.Leadership and programme management capabilities.Good written and verbal communication skills.Strong organisational and academic administrative skills.Ability to mentor and motivate students.Ability to work collaboratively with academic and administrative teams.Strong industry networking and stakeholder-management skills.Familiarity with academic quality assurance and MQA requirements.Ability to manage multiple academic responsibilities and meet deadlines.Competency in digital teaching platforms and educational technologies.Preferred AttributesWe are looking for an individual who is:Passionate about sports and education.Student-focused and approachable.Industry-connected and commercially aware.Proactive in developing new opportunities for students and the programme.Comfortable combining academic leadership with practical sports-industry engagement.Committed to developing graduates who are academically competent, professionally prepared, and industry-ready.Reporting ToDean / Head of Academic / Academic ManagementEmployment TypeFull-TimePositionSports Lecturer / Programme Leader
