Render expert legal advisory to leadership and across organization on corporate governance, regulatory, and statutory compliances on laws, rules, regulations, and legislations. Establish benchmarked strategies, practices, initiatives, and interventions on legal policies, procedures, and processes.Provide legal counsel and guidance on institutional governance matters, contract reviews, interpretation and application of contractual obligations, audit, business, operation, and risk resolutions, manage disputes, arbitration, and litigations.Represent with relevant Ministries, government bodies, legal entities, manage lawsuits, cases, public prosecution, court submissions, and appeals. Ensure official communications are scrutinized for legal conformity, accuracy and protect from risks, claims, civil and commercial litigations, and legal implications. Develop and formulate MOU, Confidentiality Agreements, Non- Disclosure AgreementsPreparing management reports, legal interventions, and action plans with the relevant departments, providing advice and guidance to Vice Chancellor on varied matters.Specific Accountabilities:Establish and lead legal compliance procedures, facilitate frameworks & guidelines; compliance strategies and government directive adherence in accordance and in conformity with its established business principals and standards.Provide expert legal advice and guidance to senior executives and departments on complex legal matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.Formulate appropriate legal solutions and strategies, represent in disputes, mediation, and resolution proceedings to mitigate mandate, court verdicts, implementation, and associated risks.Represent leadership with clients, partners, stakeholders’ meetings on legal and commercial matters; ensure laws/regulation compliances and safeguarding of business interests.Develop drafts/legal documents, review and endorse legal strategies, appeals, and approaches for leadership approvals.Liaise with relevant authorities, Ministries, Government entities to integrate the College’s operations; ensuring that risks or non-compliances are dealt with in an appropriate manner and that the Senior Management Team is apprised of issues and the actions being taken to address these issues/risks.Provide advice and guidance to the Vice Chancellor and the Senior Executive Management Team on the College’s legal spectrums, governance and authority matrix compliances, exposures, relevant risk mitigations on business and operational activities, policies, procedures for the Division and the College as a whole.Provide relevant data promptly to government officials/bodies and authorized personnel to ensure maximum compliance with various policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.Formulates and drafts MOU, Confidentiality Agreements, Non- Disclosure Agreements etcConduct legal research and analysis, stay updated on emerging legal trends, regulations, and best practices in the industry, and provide recommendations for proactive measures to mitigate legal risks.
