Apply & track with Apply EdgePrimary Purpose: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to provide hands-on legal and administrative support to Legal Counsel. This role is integral to the day-to-day functioning of the Canadian team and will involve close collaboration with internal business stakeholders.The successful candidate will assist with, among other things, contract review and management, legal operations, matter intake and tracking, and ongoing follow-up to ensure legal processes are completed efficiently and in alignment with the global legal team’s practices and priorities, and general ad hoc matters.The team works primarily remotely, with in-office attendance required from time to time within the Toronto area.Key Activities and Responsibilities: Provide overall support, both legal and administrative, to Legal Counsel including but not limited to:Reviewing, proofreading, and providing initial comments on contracts and legal documentsAssisting with the contract lifecycle, including tracking drafts, coordinating signatures, and ensuring fully executed copies are obtained and properly storedManaging assigned matters within the legal portal, including opening matters, maintaining documentation, and tracking statusAssisting Legal Counsel in responding to internal inquiries by preparing drafts, gathering information, and addressing routine requests as assignedAssisting with corporate records and governance matters, including drafting minutes and resolutions where requiredFile management, document control, and general administrative supportOther ad hoc mattersPosition Requirements:To be successful in the Legal Assistant position, an individual must have the following:Education and experienceMinimum 4 years’ experience as a legal assistant in a Canadian law firmLegal Assistant equivalent degree/diplomaExperience within a corporate department of a law firm or in-house is preferredCompetenciesExcellent attention to detailAbility to manage their workloadAbility to work in a fast paced environmentAbility to work under pressure and to tight deadlinesAbility to work independently & within a teamMicrosoft office packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and TeamsCorporate law experience preferredExperience supporting commercial contracts is an assetThis position offers an annual salary of $60,000 CAD, along with a competitive benefits package that includes extended health and dental coverage, generous vacation entitlement, professional development opportunities, and additional employee benefits designed to support your well-being and career growth.
