Overview:Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C., a premier Long Island law firm, is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join its dynamic Corporate & Securities Department. Qualifications

A minimum of three years of experience in a corporate, transactional, or related legal environment.Strong knowledge of legal procedures and terminology, including the preparation and formatting of legal documents.Proficiency with technology and Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and Teams.Familiarity with legal technology and document management systems, such as eDOCS, pdfDocs, and Litera Compare.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.Exceptional attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.Highly organized and deadline-driven, with the ability to manage multiple priorities both independently and collaboratively.A collaborative, team-oriented approach, with the ability to build positive working relationships and a willingness to assist colleagues across departments.

Responsibilities

Provide specialized administrative support to multiple attorneys in the Corporate & Securities Department and assist with overflow work from other departments as needed.Prepare, transcribe, proofread, revise, format, finalize, and electronically distribute legal documents.Prepare and file court documents through traditional and electronic filing systems.Proofread documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to firm standards.Maintain attorney calendars; schedule appointments; and coordinate meetings, catering, and conferences.Exercise strict confidentiality and discretion when handling firm and client information.Handle incoming calls and greet clients and visitors in a professional manner.Provide reliable reception desk coverage as needed, recognizing that this is an essential responsibility in a busy law firm and ensuring that calls, clients, and visitors are handled promptly and professionally.Organize and maintain accurate, up-to-date physical and digital files.Assist with overflow assignments and provide departmental support as needed.Collaborate on cross-departmental projects and initiatives.Accurately enter, track, and review attorney billable time in accordance with firm standards.Perform document comparisons (blacklining), formatting, and scanning.The firm offers competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits including health care, dental and vision insurance, access to flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan with employer match and generous paid time off.Target Hiring Range: $70,000 - $85,000.
