This role is ideal for an experienced legal billing or collections professional who thrives in a detail driven environment with clear ownership of Aderant systems.Key Responsibilities of the Legal Billing Coordinator Billing Specialist:Manage the full billing cycle including invoice preparation, prebill review, and final postingReview billing activity to ensure compliance with client guidelines and internal policiesSubmit invoices through electronic billing platforms and resolve submission or rejection issuesMaintain billing data including rates, timekeepers, budgets, and client requirementsIdentify, research, and correct billing discrepancies across internal and external systemsKey Responsibilities of the Legal Collections Specialist:Oversee collection efforts for outstanding receivables by engaging with external parties and promoting timely account resolution.Analyze aging and receivable data to identify payment trends, monitor account activity, and support informed decision making.Coordinate with internal stakeholders to address billing questions, payment disputes, and account status updates.Maintain accurate documentation of outreach efforts, correspondence, and collection outcomes while ensuring proper recordkeeping.Facilitate account reconciliation activities, monitor ongoing resolution processes, and process approved balance adjustments when authorized.Qualifications and Skills for the Legal Billing Coordinator Billing Specialist:At least two years of full cycle legal billing experience within a law firm environmentProficiency with legal billing systems, with Aderant experience strongly preferredHands on experience with electronic billing platforms and client billing rulesStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple billing deadlinesClear communication skills and confidence working with attorneys and finance teamsQualifications and Skills for the Legal Collections Specialist:Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in billing, collections, or accounts receivable within a law firm environment.Knowledge of legal billing practices and experience managing outstanding client balances and payment follow up activities.Prior experience working with billing or financial management software; familiarity with industry specific platforms is preferred.Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to review reports, track account activity, and prioritize workload effectively.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate across multiple business functions.Why Join Us?This role offers real ownership of the billing process in a fast moving legal environment where accuracy and accountability matter.
