Legal Counsel Associate

We are hiring for one of our clients, Revantage Global Services (Blackstone), for the position of Legal Counsel – APAC – Associate.Location: BengaluruFunction: Legal & ComplianceExperience: 4+ years of legal experience; minimum 2 years PQE in a law firm/private practice preferredAbout the RoleWe are looking for a Legal Counsel – APAC – Associate to support the APAC Legal & Compliance team and Blackstone’s real-estate business.The role will primarily focus on real-estate legal transactions and advisory, including property due diligence, leasing, development and property documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in real-estate transactions, preferably gained from a reputed law firm or a real-estate company.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide legal support and advice on real-estate transactions and property matters across APAC.Conduct and review title and property due diligence, including title searches, property records and related documentation.Draft, review and negotiate:Sale & Purchase AgreementsLease / Sub-Lease AgreementsLeave & License AgreementsJoint Development AgreementsDevelopment AgreementsProperty-related MOUs, POAs and other transaction documentsSupport land acquisition, property acquisition, development and disposal transactions.Identify legal risks and prepare appropriate risk assessments and recommendations.Support negotiations and execution of property and transaction-related documentation.Assist with real-estate disputes, legal notices, settlement discussions and coordination with external counsel.Support commercial contracts such as service agreements, consultancy agreements, vendor agreements and other general commercial documentation, as required.Maintain legal documentation, registers, precedents and transaction records.Support process improvement, SOP development and legal operations.Candidate ProfileQualified lawyer with 4+ years of legal experience.Strong hands-on experience in Real Estate Law / Property Transactions.Experience in title due diligence, land/property transactions, leasing, development agreements and property documentation.Candidates from reputed law firms with strong Real Estate practices or established real-estate companies/developers are preferred.Strong drafting, negotiation and legal research skills.Good commercial awareness and ability to work with business stakeholders.Commercial-contract experience will be an added advantage; deep commercial-contract experience is not mandatory if the candidate has strong real-estate transactional expertise.Strong written and verbal English communication skills.Ability to manage multiple transactions independently and work with cross-functional and international stakeholders.Preferred BackgroundTarget talent pool:Real-estate lawyers from reputed law firmsIn-house Real Estate Legal professionals from real-estate developers/property companiesCandidates with strong transactional exposure across title DD, land acquisition, JDA/development agreements, sale/purchase and leasingKey skills: Real Estate Law | Property Transactions | Title Due Diligence | Land Acquisition | JDA | Development Agreements | Sale & Purchase | Leasing | Property Documentation | Legal Drafting & Negotiation
