Samsung Electronics Device Solutions is a world leader in advanced semiconductor technology, founded on the belief that the pursuit of excellence creates a better world.About the RoleThe Legal Counsel will be responsible for legal and compliance functions in Singapore, Malaysia and India. This position is an individual contributor role and reports to the Senior Manager of the Financial Management function, this role handles and oversees diverse legal matters and compliance programs.ResponsibilitiesAdvise business units on corporate, commercial, employment, competition, intellectual property, privacy, litigation, anti-corruption, and consumer protection laws to ensure legal compliance and risk mitigationDraft, review, and negotiate agreements including NDAs, sales/distribution, service, and consulting contracts to secure favorable terms and protect company interestsManage legal and compliance process systems to maintain operational efficiency and regulatory adherenceOversee legal disputes and litigation by coordinating with external counsel to resolve issues effectivelyProvide clear, actionable legal advice to headquarters on various legal and compliance matters upon requestAdminister company compliance programs by conducting employee training, preparing educational materials, maintaining records, and liaising with HQ on regional/global requirementsUpdate and implement business policies to align with Singapore laws and evolving legal developmentsMonitor legal trends and changes to proactively advise the company on potential impactsAct as the Data Protection Officer, managing data protection compliance and related responsibilitiesQualificationsLaw Degree (LL.B. or JD)Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in corporate/commercial law and contract negotiationsExperience working in a law firm environmentAbility to work independently while maintaining a highly collaborative approach across all organizational levels and functions.Proficiency in EnglishStrong logical and analytical thinking applied to legal problem-solvingHighly motivated with resourcefulness to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment"We will not request or collect any confidential information, including trade secrets of your current or former employers at all times.
