Legal Counsel

The RoleA leading international insurance organisation is seeking an experienced commercial lawyer to join its in-house legal team. This role is responsible for in-house legal matters including drafting agreements.This is a broad, business-facing role offering exposure to commercial contracts, insurance-related matters, governance, regulatory issues and strategic business initiatives. This role will work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, providing pragmatic legal advice that supports commercial objectives while managing legal and regulatory risk.What you’ll doProvide legal advice across a wide range of business functions, including underwriting, claims, operations and senior leadership teams.Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, supplier contracts and insurance-related documentation.Support product development initiatives and advise on policy wording and contractual matters.Assist with claims-related legal issues, disputes and litigation management where required.Advise on strategic business projects, corporate matters and commercial opportunities.Support legal and regulatory compliance, governance activities and risk management initiatives.Work closely with senior management and business leaders to provide practical, commercially focused legal guidance.Manage relationships with external legal advisers and other stakeholders.Who we’re looking forQualified solicitor with 2 - 5 years PQE within insurance.Solid commercial contracting and negotiation experience.Strong commercial awareness and ability to deliver pragmatic legal advice.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
