Legal Manager | Dubai (Marine & Offshore) - French SpeakingA leading international offshore and marine services business is looking for a legal professional to join its Dubai-based team.This is primarily a legal role, with a strong focus on commercial and corporate matters and an expectation that the successful candidate has a good understanding of tax law and international tax considerations.The role will have significant exposure to West Africa, with travel to the region required from time to time.The RoleWorking closely with the business and its international operations, you will provide practical legal support across a range of commercial and operational matters.Key responsibilities will include:Advising on a broad range of commercial and corporate legal mattersDrafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and agreementsSupporting the business on tax law and international tax mattersAdvising on legal and tax considerations across different jurisdictionsSupporting operations and management across West AfricaWorking with external counsel and professional advisers where requiredIdentifying and managing legal and regulatory risksSupporting cross-border transactions and business activitiesProviding practical legal advice to internal stakeholders across the organisationAbout YouWe are open to candidates at different levels of experience, from junior legal professionals through to more experienced lawyers, provided they have the right combination of legal, tax and international experience.You will ideally have:A law degree (LLB, LLM or equivalent)Experience working in a legal role, whether in-house, private practice or a professional services environmentA good understanding of tax law, particularly international or cross-border tax mattersExperience within maritime, offshore, oil & gas, energy or a related international industryExposure to West African jurisdictions or experience advising businesses operating in the regionFluent French and strong English communication skillsStrong commercial awareness and the ability to work with stakeholders across different jurisdictionsA willingness and ability to travel to West Africa when requiredExperience with an international law firm, Big 4, or multinational business would be advantageous.LocationDubai, UAEDubai-based role with international exposure and travel to West Africa as required.If you're a legally qualified professional with French language skills, tax law knowledge and experience in an international industry, we'd be interested in hearing from you.
