Legal Office ManagerGlen Burnie, MarylandFull-Time | On-SiteCompensation: $75,000–$105,000, based on experienceOur client is seeking an experienced Legal Office Manager to lead the administrative and operational functions of a busy, growing small Maryland law firm.This is a hands-on management role for someone who is comfortable bringing greater structure, consistency, accountability, and stronger processes to a fast-paced legal environment.The Legal Office Manager will work closely with firm ownership and the firm’s legal leadership to ensure that attorneys and administrative staff are supported by efficient systems, clear procedures, strong communication, and consistent follow-through.We are looking for someone who can quickly understand how the office operates, identify gaps, implement practical improvements, and make sure established processes are consistently followed.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the firmDirectly supervise and support paralegals, legal assistants, intake staff, and other administrative employeesEstablish clear responsibilities, expectations, workflows, and performance standards for administrative staffReview existing office procedures and implement stronger, more consistent processesDevelop and document policies, procedures, workflows, and operating standardsImprove communication and coordination between attorneys and support staffOversee employee onboarding, training, performance management, attendance, and day-to-day employee relationsAddress performance, communication, and workplace issues promptly and professionallyHelp build a more consistent, accountable, and professional office cultureMonitor administrative workflow, staffing capacity, and workload distributionOversee client intake and administrative handoffs to help ensure matters move efficiently through the firmSupport recruiting and hiring for administrative positionsMaintain appropriate personnel documentation and assist with HR-related processesCoordinate office technology, vendors, facilities, supplies, and other administrative needsSupport billing, collections, scheduling, and related business processes as appropriateIdentify operational inefficiencies and recommend practical solutionsEstablish and track appropriate administrative and operational performance measuresSupport firm ownership with special projects, growth initiatives, and operational prioritiesQualificationsMinimum 5 years of law firm administration, legal office management, legal operations, or comparable senior legal support experienceDemonstrated experience supervising employees in a law firm or professional-services environmentProven ability to improve procedures, workflows, and operational consistencyExperience handling employee performance, coaching, and accountabilityStrong organizational and project-management skillsAbility to communicate effectively and credibly with attorneys and staffStrong judgment, discretion, and professionalismComfortable addressing difficult situations directly and constructivelyStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to prioritize multiple demands in a fast-moving environmentStrong attention to detail combined with the ability to recognize broader operational issuesComfortable using and improving technology and law firm systemsCriminal defense experience is preferred but not requiredThe Person Who Will Succeed in This RoleThe strongest candidate will be confident, organized, resilient, and comfortable taking ownership.
