Systems Administrator (Level 2)Defence Technology Environment | Fyshwick, ACT | NV2 or aboveCleared is partnering with a leading Australian Defence technology organisation to identify an experienced Systems Administrator (Level 2) to join a high-performing ICT team supporting secure, mission-critical environments.This is an opportunity to work with advanced enterprise infrastructure, contribute to the delivery of Defence capability, and play a key role in maintaining the stability, security and performance of critical systems.The RoleAs a Systems Administrator, you'll be responsible for the administration, support and continuous improvement of a complex ICT environment. Working alongside experienced technical specialists, you'll provide infrastructure support across servers, networking, virtualisation platforms and business systems while ensuring operational availability and security compliance.This role suits someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex issues, working in secure environments, and contributing to the delivery of reliable technology services that make a real impact.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister, maintain and support enterprise ICT infrastructure and core services.Manage Windows Server environments and associated Microsoft technologies.Support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and related services.Provide administration and support for Linux systems where required.Maintain virtualisation platforms, enterprise storage and backup solutions.Monitor system performance, availability and security posture.Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, network and application-related incidents.Support software deployment, patch management and system imaging activities.Assist with LAN/WAN administration and network troubleshooting.Implement and maintain security controls and configuration standards.Coordinate hardware deployment, upgrades and lifecycle management.Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and infrastructure projects.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will bring:5+ years of experience in systems administration or infrastructure support.Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server and Microsoft technologies.Solid knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.Experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments.Exposure to virtualisation technologies and enterprise storage platforms.Understanding of TCP/IP networking, LAN/WAN environments and network troubleshooting.Experience with software deployment, patch management and remote support tools.Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions.Exposure to Linux administration will be highly regarded.Familiarity with ITIL processes, including incident and change management.Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.What's On OfferWork within a secure and highly regarded Defence environment.Exposure to large-scale enterprise infrastructure and emerging technologies.Opportunities for professional development and career progression.Competitive salary package and employee benefits.Supportive, collaborative and technically skilled team.Additional leave and wellbeing initiatives.Security RequirementsTo be considered for this opportunity, applicants must:Be an Australian Citizen.Hold an NV2 Australian Government Security Clearance.Meet all security and compliance requirements associated with Defence industry programs.Interested?If you're an experienced Systems Administrator looking to work on secure, business-critical technology within the Defence sector, we'd love to hear from you.Diversity and InclusionWe are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
