Deeply connected to the communities it serves, Ballad Health emphasizes listening to patients, addressing unique needs, and maintaining accountability in care delivery.Role Description This full-time, on-site Licensed Mental Health Therapist role is based in Norton, VA. The therapist will provide individual, family, and group therapy to patients experiencing a range of mental and behavioral health concerns, using evidence-based interventions aligned with Ballad Health’s standards of care. Daily responsibilities include conducting psychosocial assessments, developing and updating treatment plans, coordinating care with physicians and other interdisciplinary team members, and engaging in case management to support continuity of care. The therapist will collaborate closely with patients and families to identify goals, monitor progress, and facilitate connections to community resources, while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to regulatory and ethical guidelines.Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Mental Health assessment and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.Proficiency in Treatment Planning, including goal setting, intervention design, and ongoing plan evaluation.Experience in Family Therapy, with skills in supporting families and caregivers within the treatment process.Background in Social Work and Case Management to coordinate services and link patients to community resources.Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a mental health professional (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) in the state of Virginia.Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or a related behavioral health field.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team setting.Commitment to ethical practice, cultural humility, trauma-informed care, and maintaining patient confidentiality.Experience in hospital or community behavioral health settings is preferred.
