Personalized individual counseling and guidance through major life transitions help clients adapt to change and build resilience in a supportive, professional environment.Role Description The Licensed Professional Counselor will provide remote, client-centered psychotherapy and counseling services as part of a contract role. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting comprehensive intake assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering individual counseling sessions via secure telehealth platforms. The counselor will support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, anger, life transitions, and other mental health concerns, using evidence-based interventions. Additional tasks include maintaining accurate clinical documentation, collaborating with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals as needed, participating in case consultations, and adhering to ethical, legal, and regulatory standards for clinical practice. The role also involves ongoing professional development and maintaining licensure in good standing.Qualifications Active state licensure in Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent (e.g., LPCC, LCMHC), in good standing, with eligibility to provide telehealth services.Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related behavioral health field.Demonstrated competence in individual counseling, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions for anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, stress, and anger management.Experience working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults, and familiarity with family systems and life-transition support.Strong skills in active listening, rapport-building, crisis assessment and intervention, and culturally responsive, trauma-informed care.Ability to maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and use electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms effectively.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, professional boundaries, and a high level of integrity and ethical practice aligned with licensing board standards.Capacity to work independently in a remote environment, manage a consistent caseload, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary mental health team.Preferred: Experience in outpatient psychiatry or private practice settings, familiarity with medication management coordination, and bilingual or multilingual abilities.
