The practice values ongoing learning, professional growth, and supportive teamwork.Role Description The Licensed Professional Counselor will provide outpatient mental health counseling to individuals, couples, and families in an on-site setting in Oswego, IL. This full-time role includes conducting intake assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-informed psychotherapeutic interventions. Day-to-day responsibilities involve maintaining an active caseload, documenting sessions in a timely and accurate manner, coordinating care with other providers as appropriate, and participating in case consultation or team meetings. The counselor will uphold ethical guidelines, maintain client confidentiality, and contribute to a positive, collaborative practice culture. The role may also include limited telehealth sessions to meet client needs while prioritizing in-person care at the office.Qualifications Active licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or higher (e.g., LCPC) in the state of Illinois, or eligibility for licensure within a defined timeframe.Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related mental health field from an accredited institution.Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for a variety of mental health and relational concerns.Demonstrated ability to provide individual, couples, and family therapy using evidence-informed modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, person-centered, trauma-informed approaches).Competence in maintaining clear, timely clinical documentation and using electronic health record (EHR) systems.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries.Commitment to ethical practice, cultural humility, and providing inclusive, non-discriminatory care to clients of diverse backgrounds.Ability to manage a full-time caseload, work on-site in Oswego, IL, and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.Experience providing telehealth services and comfort with basic technology tools is beneficial.Previous outpatient private practice or community mental health experience is preferred but not required.
