Follow our progress, construction updates, and behind-the-scenes videos on Instagram: Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency on InstagramMake Anesthesia Your SpecialtyAs an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician, you’ll play a key role in advanced anesthetic and analgesic care for specialty, surgical, and complex medical patients.You’ll have opportunities to:Prepare patients for anesthesia, sedation, and advanced proceduresAssist with patient assessment and anesthetic planningPerform anesthesia induction, intubation, maintenance, and recoveryProvide continuous advanced anesthetic monitoringMonitor ECG, pulse oximetry, capnography, blood pressure, temperature, and other parametersManage and troubleshoot advanced anesthesia equipment and monitoring systemsSupport patients requiring mechanical ventilationManage CRIs, infusion pumps, and other continuous therapiesAdminister anesthetic, analgesic, and supportive medications under DVM directionSupport high-risk anesthesia cases and medically complex patientsRecognize and respond to changes in patient status during anesthesiaProvide multimodal pain management and postoperative analgesiaRecover anesthetized patients, including high-risk and specialty casesProvide postoperative monitoring and nursing careMaintain accurate anesthesia and treatment recordsCollaborate closely with surgeons, specialists, emergency clinicians, and nursing teamsWhat We’re Looking For This opportunity is designed for an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician who has a strong interest in advanced anesthesia, analgesia, and perioperative patient care.You may be a great fit if you have:2+ years of veterinary clinical experienceExperience in anesthesia, surgery, specialty, emergency, critical care, or high-volume practiceStrong anesthesia induction, maintenance, and recovery skillsExperience with advanced anesthetic monitoringConfidence interpreting ECG, capnography, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, and other patient parametersExperience managing CRIs and infusion pumpsExperience with mechanical ventilation or other advanced patient-support modalitiesStrong understanding of analgesia and pain managementConfidence caring for high-risk or medically complex patientsStrong attention to detail and commitment to patient safetyExcellent communication and teamwork skillsFlexibility to work the set schedule established by the hospital teamAbility and willingness to participate in the hospital’s on-call scheduleLVT credentials are required for this opportunity.Advanced anesthesia experience, specialty anesthesia experience, ventilator experience, or a demonstrated interest in pursuing VTS Anesthesia and Analgesia is highly valued. RECOVER CPR certification is a plus.Physical & Work EnvironmentThis is an active specialty hospital environment.
