Cornerstone Veterinary Hospital values collaboration, professional growth, and a supportive working environment for veterinary professionals.Role Description The Licensed Veterinary Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Clifton Park, NY. This role includes assisting veterinarians during examinations and procedures, performing technical tasks such as blood draws, catheter placement, radiology, and laboratory testing. The technician will monitor anesthesia, provide surgical support, and ensure appropriate pain management and recovery care. Daily responsibilities also include patient triage, administering medications and treatments, maintaining medical records, and overseeing general animal care and cleanliness. The technician will communicate with clients about their pets’ health, provide education on preventive care, and support a positive, efficient hospital workflow.Qualifications Strong Animal Care and Pet Care skills, including handling, restraint, and monitoring of patients.Proficiency in Veterinary Technology, such as diagnostics, radiology, laboratory procedures, and medical record entry.Experience with Anesthesiology, including induction, monitoring, and post-operative care.Ability in Client Education, explaining treatment plans, home care, and preventive health in a clear, empathetic manner.Current licensure as a Veterinary Technician (LVT or equivalent) in New York State or eligibility to obtain licensure.Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills in a fast-paced clinical setting.Comfort with using veterinary practice management software and basic computer applications.Previous small animal general practice or hospital experience preferred but not required.
