About the RoleAs an Associate, you will roll up your sleeves to draft regulatory proposals, shape product and business descriptions for submissions, and bridge business, legal, and regulatory gaps to help secure and maintain key licenses. Overall, serve as a key compliance and regulation expert to the strategic project and gain further growth from top-notch deal exposures with best talents in the industry.ResponsibilitiesRegulator Management & EngagementPrepare briefing materials, product and business descriptions, and coordinate responses to regulator queries across trading, clearing, custody, and payments businesses, as well as deal-specific key considerations (potential UBO change of target company, buyer introduction, source of fund/wealth, regulatory financial resources rules, etc.).Track and manage ongoing communication with regulators across jurisdictions, including follow-ups and commitments.Licensing Proposals & DocumentationDraft and refine regulatory proposal materials, including product descriptions and flows, business rationales, risk disclosures, and governance frameworks.Support licensing applications and ongoing modifications/notifications for our licenses.Internal CollaborationWork closely with business, trading, product, and payments teams to understand product mechanics (including options, derivatives, and payment flows) and reflect them accurately in regulatory submissions.Collaborate with Legal and Compliance on policies and controls linked to these licenses; review documentation produced by Legal and Compliance, ensuring documentation remains practical for business and payments teams.Keep abreast of the latest market updates on compliance and licensing, and conduct deal-specific research/confirmation on compliance and licensing matters where needed.Qualifications3–6 years of experience at an exchange, financial regulator, derivatives desk, structured products team, payment service provider, fintech, or crypto firm. Candidates from MAS will also be considered.Experience preparing or coordinating regulatory submissions, license applications, or responding to regulator queries is a must. Experience with MAS is a plus.Strong understanding of options and derivatives will be a plus, with the ability to translate product mechanics into clear regulatory and business language.Not purely legal: comfortable working at the intersection of business, product, and regulation, and willing to get hands-on with drafting and analysis.Strong analytical and writing skills, particularly for business plans, product descriptions, and regulator-facing documents.Excellent stakeholder management skills; able to work with senior business leaders, legal/compliance teams, regulators, and external parties where needed.Fluency in English and Mandarin (spoken and written) is mandatory.Comfortable in a fast-paced environment; able to manage multiple workstreams with ownership and “roll sleeves up” to drive outcomes.
