The team is known for its attentiveness and responsiveness, building long-term relationships with clients and contributing to successful, well-run swim facilities.Role Description The Lifeguard role is a full-time, on-site position located in Nashville, TN. Lifeguards are responsible for monitoring pool activities, enforcing safety rules, and preventing accidents by maintaining constant awareness of swimmers and surrounding areas. Daily tasks include performing water rescues when needed, providing first aid and CPR, and responding calmly and quickly to emergencies. Lifeguards also conduct regular checks of pool water conditions and safety equipment, assist with opening and closing procedures, and communicate clearly with patrons about facility guidelines. The role requires collaboration with other staff members to ensure a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment for all guests.Qualifications Strong observation skills and situational awareness to identify and respond to potential safety risks.Ability to perform water rescues, swim confidently, and safely manage distressed swimmers.Current lifeguard certification from a recognized organization (e.g., American Red Cross, YMCA, Ellis & Associates), including CPR, AED, and First Aid.Clear communication skills for interacting with patrons and team members, including enforcing rules respectfully and effectively.Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to remain focused during long periods of active supervision.Physical stamina to stand, walk, and move quickly around the pool deck and in the water as needed.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and follow established safety and operational procedures.Prior experience as a lifeguard or in aquatic environments is beneficial; comfort working with individuals and families of all ages.
