Linux Administrator

This role involves managing both SuSE Linux and Ubuntu Server environments, focusing on system improvements, optimization, and deployment plans. The Linux Administrator will work closely with developers and other administrators to provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and implement security best practices. The role requires hands-on experience with various Linux distributions and virtualization technologies, ensuring systems run efficiently and securely.

Key Responsibilities

Provide recommendations for system improvements and optimization plans to enhance performance and reliability.Perform routine maintenance on Linux and Windows systems to ensure maximum uptime and optimal refresh intervals.Monitor system performance using command line tools and SolarWinds to prevent slowdowns and crashes.Act as a single point of contact for managing service providers and coordinating security planning with management.Facilitate Active Directory and SMB interoperability, along with NFS and remote drive maps.Required Qualifications:A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required.Minimum of 3 years of related Linux Administration work experience is required.Proven knowledge of SuSE, Ubuntu, or RedHat Linux for design, operations, and troubleshooting.Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V is necessary.Experience supporting Windows SAMBA/Active Directory, NFS, and Volume Management is essential.Additional Details:Location: Houston, TX 77051This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with both SuSE Linux and Ubuntu Server, collaborating closely with developers on impactful projects.
