They’re expanding their kernel and infrastructure capability and are hiring senior engineers who can work deep in the Linux kernel, device drivers, and low‑level system optimisation.This role suits someone who enjoys close‑to‑hardware engineering and can design reliable, high‑throughput subsystems for demanding workloads. You’ll work across PCIe, DMA, memory management, observability, multi‑die orchestration, and kernel‑userspace interfaces within a highly technical environment.Main Responsibilities• Design and implement PCIe kernel drivers for accelerator enumeration, configuration, and management• Develop DMA engines and memory‑management systems enabling zero‑copy, high‑throughput data movement• Build interrupt‑handling mechanisms (MSI/MSI‑X) and mailbox communication protocols between kernel space and firmware• Create sysfs/debugfs interfaces for configuration, telemetry, and diagnostics• Support multi‑die topologies through device discovery, link management, and topology coordination• Integrate power‑management and thermal‑control frameworks to optimise performance and reliability• Contribute to reliability engineering through device‑health monitoring, error handling (RAS), and recovery mechanisms• Optimise kernel‑space performance for latency, throughput, and scalability• Support PTP/PHC time‑synchronisation for distributed systems and multi‑node coordination• Partner with runtime teams on kernel‑userspace interfaces and APIs• Contribute to future‑ready architecture including device virtualisation and multi‑tenant isolationQualifications• 5+ years developing Linux kernel drivers and subsystems in C for complex SoCs or accelerators• Proven experience with PCIe device‑driver development (enumeration, BARs, DMA, interrupts)• Strong knowledge of Linux memory management, DMA mapping, and IOMMU integration• Hands‑on experience with kernel synchronisation primitives, workqueues, and interrupt handling• Solid understanding of Linux device model, sysfs/debugfs, and driver lifecycle management• Familiarity with kernel debugging tools (ftrace, perf, crash, kprobes) and hardware debuggers• Ability to read hardware specifications and work with RTL/hardware teams on register interfaces• Strong documentation habits and comfort with kernel development processes and upstream contributionPreferred:• Experience with AI/ML accelerator or GPU compute drivers• RDMA/RoCE or high‑speed networking subsystem experience• Background in PTP/PHC time‑synchronisation or distributed system timing• Multi‑die/chiplet driver experience and topology management• Linux kernel upstream contributions• Experience with kernel security features and device isolation• Knowledge of container/runtime integration (Docker, Kubernetes)• Performance optimisation for high‑throughput, low‑latency subsystems• Familiarity with RAS concepts, ECC handling, and system reliabilityApplyApplicants meeting this criterion and looking for a progressive and challenging opportunity should submit an application via the apply link.
