Linux System Administrator

Linux System AdministratorWe are looking for an experienced Linux System Administrator to manage, maintain, secure, and optimize enterprise IT infrastructure in a large-scale 24x7 production environment. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience managing Windows and Linux servers, patch management, vulnerability remediation, server hardening, virtualization, backup, storage, and infrastructure automation.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and maintain large-scale Windows and Linux server environments, ensuring high availability, stability, and performance.Administer RHEL 7/8/9 and Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025 environments.Perform OS and third-party application patching across production and non-production environments.Identify, remediate, and track security vulnerabilities within defined SLAs.Perform server hardening in accordance with organizational security and compliance requirements.Manage and troubleshoot Active Directory, DNS, and core Windows infrastructure services.Provide OS-level administration and troubleshooting for AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.Manage and support VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, Hyper-V, and Nutanix environments.Configure and maintain automation workflows using Ansible for patching, provisioning, and infrastructure management.Support enterprise backup and recovery operations using Veeam, Commvault, and other backup solutions.Manage and troubleshoot SAN/NAS and enterprise storage environments, including VMAX and PowerStore.Support and monitor firewall operations, including Sangfor and Fortinet environments.Monitor infrastructure health, security events, performance, and availability using tools such as Splunk, Zabbix, QRadar, Nexpose, and ManageEngine.Perform server provisioning, disk and storage management, LVM administration, and system configuration.Manage secure server connectivity using SSH, passwordless SSH, and SCP.Troubleshoot critical production incidents and participate in 24x7 on-call and operational support.Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, patch compliance reports, vulnerability status, and audit-ready records.Coordinate with security, network, application, backup, and other infrastructure teams to resolve complex technical issues.Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure reliability through automation, standardization, and proactive maintenance.Required Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.5+ years of hands-on experience in System Administration or Enterprise Infrastructure.Strong administration experience across both Windows and Linux environments.Proven experience managing large-scale server environments.Strong knowledge of patch management, vulnerability remediation, and server hardening.Hands-on experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or Nutanix.Experience with Ansible automation and scripting using Bash/Shell.Good understanding of backup, recovery, storage, and disaster recovery concepts.Experience supporting 24x7 production environments.Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and problem-solving skills.Preferred SkillsExperience with Fortinet or Sangfor firewalls.Experience with Veeam and/or Commvault.Knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP administration.Experience with enterprise storage platforms, particularly Dell EMC VMAX and PowerStore.Exposure to Splunk, QRadar, Zabbix, Nexpose, or ManageEngine.Relevant certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, Microsoft, VMware, AWS, Azure, or equivalent will be an advantage.
