You will join a small, highly technical Linux team responsible for designing, maintaining, automating, and troubleshooting Linux systems across multiple networks and architectures in a hybrid cloud environment.This role is ideal for a hands-on Linux administrator who enjoys solving complex infrastructure problems, automating repetitive work, collaborating with technical teams, and mentoring junior staff. AWS experience is a plus, but the core of the position is strong Linux administration and automation.WHAT YOU'LL DOConfigure, administer, patch, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux systems across multiple environments.Create, debug, and implement automation using Bash, Python, Puppet, and/or Ansible.Help design technical solutions and Linux architecture that meet mission and organizational requirements.Partner with diverse engineering and operations teams to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve reliability, consistency, and operational efficiency.Communicate technical issues clearly with team members, service owners, and other stakeholders.Support and mentor junior administrators while contributing to a collaborative, small-team environment.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS10 years of Systems Administration experience supporting programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university. Five additional years of Systems Administration experience may be substituted for the degree.Strong hands-on Linux administration experience, including configuration, patching, monitoring, troubleshooting, and system maintenance.Hands-on scripting and automation experience with Bash, Python, Puppet, and/or Ansible.Minimum DoD IAT Level II certification, such as Security+ CE or an accepted equivalent.Ability to work effectively on a small technical team, mentor junior staff, and communicate issues clearly.Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSAWS cloud experience, particularly Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling.Experience with the AWS Command Line Interface (AWS CLI).Experience developing or supporting AWS automation with Boto3.Experience supporting Linux systems in hybrid cloud or multi-network environments.
