In the world of high‑frequency trading, infrastructure is the edge. Every microsecond is contested territory. Every kernel parameter, NUMA boundary, and cache line is a lever of competitive advantage. If you’re the kind of engineer who sees a Linux system not as an operating environment but as a performance canvas, this is the role that puts your craft directly into the heart of a globally recognised HFT powerhouse. The MissionYou will join a team responsible for one of the fastest, most tightly‑tuned Linux estates in the industry. This is not “enterprise Linux administration.” This is bare‑metal performance engineering at the limits of physics — where deterministic behaviour, kernel‑level insight, and mechanical sympathy define success. What You’ll OwnDesigning, optimising, and maintaining ultra‑low‑latency Linux platforms powering real‑time trading systems.Deep kernel tuning: CPU isolation, IRQ affinity, scheduler behaviour, NUMA optimisation, hugepages, and custom kernel builds.High‑performance networking: DPDK, RDMA, kernel‑bypass stacks, NIC firmware tuning, and microburst mitigation.Hardware‑aware engineering: PCIe topology, cache coherency, memory bandwidth profiling, and BIOS‑level optimisation.Observability at nanosecond resolution: perf, ftrace, eBPF, flame graphs, and bespoke latency‑instrumentation frameworks.Working side‑by‑side with quant researchers and C++ engineers to eliminate jitter, reduce tail latency, and push deterministic execution. What You BringMastery of Linux internals — you understand why the kernel behaves the way it does.Proven experience tuning systems for low‑latency or high‑throughput workloads.Strong networking fundamentals (TCP internals, multicast, kernel bypass, packet pacing).Ability to reason about hardware/software interactions at a microscopic level.A mindset obsessed with measurement, optimisation, and elegant simplicity.Calmness under pressure and a relentless curiosity for how things really work. Why This TeamYou’ll work with some of the most respected performance engineers in the world. You’ll have access to cutting‑edge hardware, custom silicon, and experimental kernel builds. You’ll influence systems that operate at global scale and compete in the most demanding markets on earth. You’ll be part of a culture that values engineering excellence above everything else.If you want to work somewhere where your Linux expertise is not just appreciated but weaponised, this is the environment you’ve been waiting for.
