Job Description
A leading global law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Assistant to support a team within its Consumer Disputes and Product Liability practice. This position will provide administrative and litigation support to up to seven attorneys, including two partners. The ideal candidate will have 5-10+ years of legal administrative experience, strong litigation experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys and paralegals within the practice group.Prepare, edit, proofread, format, and finalize legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, briefs, motions, and other materials.Assist with preparing initial drafts of legal and closing documents.Prepare and finalize Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities.Complete electronic court filings and ensure documents meet applicable court requirements and deadlines.Manage litigation calendars and track important case dates, deadlines, hearings, and filings.Maintain organized electronic matter files using iManage and other document management systems.Assist with docketing and monitoring litigation deadlines.Prepare and organize subpoenas, witness materials, binders, and other case documentation.Coordinate attorney meetings, conference calls, and other scheduling needs.Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, paralegals, courts, and other contacts.Answer and route telephone calls and assist with general inquiries.Assist with attorney timekeeping, expense reimbursements, and other administrative processes.Utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Milana, iManage, Intapp, and Epic.Provide backup support to other members of the legal team as needed.
Qualifications
5-10+ years of administrative experience in a law firm or professional services environment.Litigation experience is required; state and federal court experience is preferred.Bachelor's degree preferred.Experience with litigation calendaring software; Milana experience is a plus.Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.Experience with electronic court filing systems and docketing.Familiarity with subpoenas, witness binders, document production, and litigation documentation.Strong proofreading, editing, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.Dependable, adaptable, tech-savvy, and comfortable learning new systems.Strong ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.Schedule:Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM37.5 hours per week with a one-hour lunchFully onsite during approximately the first 90 days for training.Following training, hybrid schedule with three set days per week in the office.Professional office environment.Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
