The firm has more than 70 attorneys, handles 2,000+ cases nationwide, and provides comprehensive training for attorneys transitioning into this specialized practice.Prior asbestos or mesothelioma experience is not required. Attorneys coming from plaintiff-side personal injury, product liability, medical-related litigation, or other complex litigation backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Defense attorneys may also be considered, subject to conflicts.The firm hires experienced attorneys from outside the firm at the Associate level. Partnership is achieved through internal promotion rather than external lateral hiring. Associates receive base salary plus bonus and may participate in trials as second chair, while Partners serve as first-chair trial counsel and are eligible for commission on case settlements.What You'll DoManage an active caseload, typically 15-18 casesHandle written discovery and substantive motion practiceTake and defend depositionsWork directly with clients and families throughout their casesParticipate in trials as second chairCollaborate with experienced trial attorneys on litigation strategyTravel approximately 8 times per month, primarily 1-2 night trips, with some local and occasional national travelQualificationsJ.D. from an ABA-accredited law schoolActive California Bar admission1+ year of litigation experiencePlaintiff-side PI, product liability, medical-related litigation, or other complex litigation experience preferredStrong research, writing, advocacy, and case-management skillsAbility to manage deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environmentStrong client communication skills, professionalism, and empathy
