If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and take real ownership of your work, this is a role where you’ll be relied on and recognized.Duties & ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day practices of several litigation lawyers, with a focus on efficiency and responsivenessMonitor and manage lawyers’ inboxes, staying on top of file developments and responding where appropriateOversee busy calendars, scheduling meetings and appointments, booking rooms, AV and catering, preparing agendas and arranging travelAct as a trusted point of contact for clients, colleagues and outside parties, and build strong client relationshipsDraft, format, proofread and finalize correspondence, court documents and other materials, using in-house document production support where neededOpen new matters, including conflict and intake research, and set up and maintain electronic filesManage the billing cycle from start to finish: chase outstanding time entries, edit pre-bills, prepare invoices, confirm fees and disbursements, and respond to client billing questionsSupport business development, including presentations, speaking notes, pitch materials, lawyer bios and CRM updatesAssist lawyers with firm leadership responsibilities and external board commitmentsRespond to and follow through on audit letter requestsWhat We’re Looking For3+ years of experience as a legal assistant, ideally supporting a litigation partner at a large firmCollege diploma in legal, office or business administration, or an equivalent mix of education and experienceWorking knowledge of litigation procedures, with strong drafting and proofreading skillsExcellent organization, time management and multitasking abilitiesSound judgment, discretion and a high standard of confidentialityAdvanced proficiency with standard office software and document management systemsA team player who also takes initiative and works well independently
