Open seven days a week, we are committed to delivering consistent quality, value, and service to our members while supporting the success of small businesses.Position SummaryThe International Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing global inbound logistics operations, with a focus on ocean freight, import compliance, and cost management. This role drives end-to-end supply chain efficiency by managing carrier relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing strategies that reduce landed costs while improving service levels.Key ResponsibilitiesGlobal Logistics Strategy & OptimizationDesign and optimize the international supply chain network to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost performanceDevelop strategies to reduce landed costs, including freight, duties, and tariffsMonitor global trade conditions, including tariffs, sanctions, and trade agreements, to proactively mitigate riskIdentify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across international logistics operationsCarrier & Vendor ManagementNegotiate rates, service levels, and KPIs with international carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providersEstablish and maintain strong vendor relationships focused on performance, accountability, and cost controlEvaluate carrier performance and implement corrective actions or alternative sourcing strategies as neededOperations & ExecutionOversee international shipping operations, including ocean freight, drayage, and container movementEnsure timely and accurate delivery of imported goods across the supply chainDevelop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure cost, service, and operational efficiencyAnalyze freight spend and benchmark rates against market indices to ensure competitivenessCompliance & Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with all international trade regulations, including customs requirements and import/export laws (FDA, USDA, FSMA, FSVP, etc.)Oversee tariff classification, customs audits, and duty optimization strategies such as duty drawback and first salePartner with internal stakeholders to maintain compliance standards and mitigate regulatory riskData, Reporting & Financial OversightAnalyze logistics data, including cost per container, savings per load, and overall freight spend trendsProvide regular reporting and insights to leadership to support strategic decision-makingSupport budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives within international logisticsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field required3+ years of experience in international logistics, ocean freight, or global supply chain operationsStrong knowledge of import/export regulations, customs compliance, and global trade practicesExperience negotiating with carriers and managing third-party logistics providersAdvanced analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data analysisAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentWhy Join Restaurant Depot?As we continue to expand nationwide, we offer strong career growth opportunities in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
