We specialise in industrial paints, coating chemicals, corrosion-protection systems and smart coating technologies for customers in India and international markets.Our operations involve the domestic and international movement of coating chemicals, solvents, raw materials, samples, packaging materials and finished products. We are looking for an experienced, responsible and highly organised Logistics & Cargo Manager to independently manage our logistics, cargo, import-export and shipment-compliance activities.POSITION SUMMARYThe Logistics & Cargo Manager will plan, coordinate and control the domestic and international movement of chemicals, raw materials, solvents, samples and finished products.The position requires practical knowledge of road, air and sea cargo; import-export documentation; customs clearance; DGFT procedures; hazardous and dangerous-goods handling; freight negotiation; shipment tracking; packaging and labelling compliance; and coordination with freight forwarders, customs brokers, transporters, shipping lines, airlines and customers.The selected candidate must coordinate with production, stores, purchase, sales, quality and accounts to ensure that every shipment is dispatched safely, legally, economically and within the committed delivery schedule.This is a hands-on position. The candidate must take ownership of shipments, identify risks before dispatch and resolve logistics, documentation, customs and delivery issues without unnecessary delay.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDOMESTIC LOGISTICS• Plan and coordinate domestic dispatches of chemicals, solvents, raw materials, samples and finished products.• Arrange suitable vehicles based on the material, quantity, weight, packaging, destination and safety classification.• Coordinate with transporters for vehicle placement, loading, route planning, transit time and delivery confirmation.• Ensure each dispatch has accurate invoices, delivery challans, packing lists, e-way bills and transport documents.• Verify transporter and vehicle suitability before loading chemical or regulated products.• Track vehicles from dispatch until delivery and provide timely updates to customers and internal departments.• Resolve delays, breakdowns, rejected deliveries, shortages, damage and transportation-related issues.• Collect proof of delivery and maintain transporter performance records.2 EXPORT LOGISTICS• Manage export shipments by air, sea and road based on customer requirements, destination, cargo classification and urgency.• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines, airlines, cargo agents, transporters, ports and overseas customers.• Obtain and compare freight quotations, routes, transit schedules, destination charges and commercial terms.• Select the appropriate logistics arrangement based on safety, compliance, cost, reliability and transit time.• Prepare and verify commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, shipping bills, bills of lading, airway bills, dangerous-goods declarations and insurance documents.• Coordinate container booking, cargo space, pickup, stuffing, cargo handover, customs clearance and vessel or flight schedules.• Monitor documentation cut-offs, port cut-offs, customs filing, departures, trans-shipments and expected arrival dates.• Ensure the product description, quantity, package count, weights, HS code, consignee information, Incoterms and shipment value are consistent across documents.• Share pre-shipment and post-shipment documents with customers, banks, accounts and authorised stakeholders.• Track shipments until delivery and escalate delays, customs holds, documentation errors, damage or other exceptions.3 IMPORT AND CUSTOMS CLEARANCE• Coordinate imports of chemicals, raw materials, packaging materials, equipment, components and samples.• Review supplier documents before shipment to minimise customs queries, demurrage, detention and clearance delays.• Verify invoices, packing lists, certificates, bills of lading, airway bills, insurance documents and HS-code details.• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, transporters, banks and internal teams for timely clearance.• Monitor arrival, document submission, customs assessment, duty payment, examination, out-of-charge status and final delivery.• Resolve customs queries, classification questions, valuation issues and missing-document cases.• Maintain complete import records for statutory verification and audits.4 DGFT AND REGULATORY COMPLIANCE• Maintain practical knowledge of DGFT procedures, customs requirements, IEC, LUT, HS codes, e-way bills and import-export controls.• Coordinate statutory declarations, licences, registrations, certificates and permissions applicable to shipments.• Verify the company’s name, address, IEC, GST details, consignee information, country of origin, product description and shipment value.• Work with customs brokers and internal teams to resolve compliance questions promptly.• Maintain organised records of shipping bills, bills of entry, certificates of origin, customs documents and freight invoices.• Monitor regulatory changes affecting the import, export, packaging, labelling or transportation of company products.• Ensure no consignment is dispatched with incomplete, inconsistent or unapproved documentation.5 HAZARDOUS AND DANGEROUS GOODS• Coordinate safe transportation of coating chemicals, solvents and other hazardous or dangerous goods.• Review the Safety Data Sheet and product classification before deciding the transportation mode, packaging, labelling and documentation.• Ensure products are packed in suitable, secure containers to prevent leakage, contamination, damage or unsafe handling.• Verify hazard labels, handling marks, product details and shipping documents.• Coordinate dangerous-goods declarations with authorised freight forwarders, carriers and cargo agents.• Confirm that carriers are authorised and operationally capable of handling the applicable cargo classification.• Consider compatibility requirements when planning mixed hazardous and non-hazardous shipments.• Stop the dispatch of leaking, damaged, improperly sealed, incorrectly labelled or non-compliant packages.6 PACKAGING AND DISPATCH CONTROL• Verify that the product name, batch number, quantity, package count, gross weight and net weight match the invoice and packing list.• Ensure drums, cans, cartons and pallets are properly sealed, secured and suitable for transportation.• Coordinate palletisation, wrapping, strapping and protective packaging to prevent transit damage.• Verify consignee details, package numbers, shipping marks, country-of-origin marking and handling instructions.• Arrange package, loading, container and seal photographs whenever required.• Reconcile physical dispatch quantities with the sales order, invoice and packing list.• Ensure that only approved and correctly identified material is dispatched.7 INTERNAL COORDINATION• Work with sales to understand customer requirements, shipping terms, dispatch priorities and delivery commitments.• Coordinate with production for batch completion, availability and packing readiness.• Coordinate with stores for inventory confirmation, packaging, loading and material handover.• Work with purchase for incoming shipments, supplier follow-up and import planning.• Coordinate with accounts for invoices, customs duties, freight payments, insurance and reconciliation.• Coordinate with quality and technical teams for Safety Data Sheets, Certificates of Analysis, product classification and customer-specific documents.• Provide management with accurate updates on shipment status, freight cost, customs issues and delivery risks.CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS• Relevant practical experience in logistics, cargo, customs, shipping, imports and exports.• Experience in paints, coatings, chemicals, industrial products or hazardous-material logistics is preferred.• Experience in domestic transport and international shipments by air, sea and road.• Working knowledge of DGFT, customs clearance, IEC, LUT, HS codes, e-way bills and export-import documentation.• Understanding of hazardous-goods packaging, labelling, documentation and transportation.• Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines, airlines and transporters.• Knowledge of invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, shipping bills, bills of entry, BL/AWB and dangerous-goods declarations.• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, professional email communication, shipment tracking and digital record management.• Strong coordination, negotiation, follow-up, communication and problem-solving skills.• Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities independently.• Responsible, disciplined, detail-oriented and capable of working
