Logistics Director

Job Title: Logistics DirectorPosition Summary:The Logistics Director oversees the full lifecycle of domestic and international shipments, warehouse operations, and systems integration. This role drives cost savings, process improvements, and cross-functional communication across sales, production, and finance teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in managing third-party warehouses and EDI systems.Key Responsibilities:Freight & Shipment PlanningCreate biweekly overseas and monthly domestic cargo cross-dock shipment split files.Organize cross-dock shipping and invoice routing for 30+ accounts across 10 countries.Oversee overseas air and ocean freight logistics, including customs filings and deliveries to the NJ warehouse.Follow up on wire transactions for prepaid accounts and release cargo accordingly.Warehouse & Inventory OversightVisit the warehouse weekly and lead day-to-day operations and continuous improvement initiatives.Oversee pick tickets, routing, and allocations for wholesale shipments.Verify NJ warehouse inventory against e-commerce preorders and initiate necessary transfers.Address warehouse-related issues in weekly meetings and ensure all KPI agreements are met.Order & Production CoordinationEnsure open order ship windows align with production schedules.Coordinate pre-routing for delayed styles to avoid late delivery discounts.Process China drop ship cargo into virtual inventory, generate invoices, and manage shipments per account requirements.Systems & EDI ManagementManage all EDI transmissions (856/810), GS1 certificates, and UPC item catalogs for InterTrade and GXS.Lead setup for new trading partners.Returns & Special HandlingManage special requests, such as hangtag placement for key accounts (e.g., Anthropologie, Nordstrom).Team Support & TrainingAct as a liaison between sales, production, and finance teams, providing logistics support as needed.Qualifications:10+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or supply chain managementStrong understanding of international shipping, customs, and EDI systemsProven ability to reduce costs through process optimizationExcellent organizational and communication skillsProficient in inventory systems and Microsoft ExcelSalary $150,000-$180,000
