Logistics Director

Role DescriptionA Logistics Director is responsible for leading logistics strategy, transportation, warehousing, distribution, and delivery operations while ensuring efficiency, cost control, service quality, and reliable supply chain performance.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement logistics strategies, policies, and procedures.Oversee transportation, warehousing, distribution, and delivery operations.Monitor logistics costs, KPIs, service levels, and operational performance.Manage routes, schedules, fleet operations, and delivery activities.Oversee warehouse operations, inventory movement, and storage.Manage logistics providers, carriers, suppliers, and service partners.Negotiate transportation rates, contracts, and service agreements.Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency.Monitor shipment schedules, delivery performance, and service quality.Identify logistics risks, delays, disruptions, and contingency requirements.Coordinate with procurement, sales, finance, operations, and supply chain teams.Ensure compliance with customs, transportation, safety, and regulatory requirements.Manage logistics budgets, forecasts, expenses, and cost controls.Prepare logistics reports, performance analysis, and management updates.Lead, develop, and improve logistics teams and operational processes.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.Extensive experience in logistics management or senior logistics leadership.Strong knowledge of transportation, warehousing, distribution, and inventory operations.Experience managing logistics providers, carriers, suppliers, and contracts.Strong negotiation, commercial, and cost-control skills.Experience with route planning, fleet management, delivery operations, and logistics KPIs.Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, WMS, TMS, or similar logistics systems.Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving abilities.Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Good knowledge of customs, import/export, transportation, and safety regulations.UAE/GCC logistics experience is advantageous.Ability to manage multiple priorities and demanding deadlines.Professional, organized, accountable, proactive, and results-oriented.
