Logistics Engineer

Job purpose:Lead and execute Integrated Logistics Support and in-service product-support engineering activities for high-visibility military vehicle and weapon-system MRO programs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.The role is responsible for FRACAS, reliability and maintainability analysis, obsolescence and DMSMS monitoring, maintenance planning, and defining the spares and support equipment needed to sustain operational availability.Convert operational and maintenance evidence into practical technical recommendations and ILS documentation aligned with customer doctrine, contractual requirements, applicable Saudi defence requirements and recognised international standards.

Key Responsibilities

Define and implement maintenance concepts, maintenance-task analysis and level-of-repair requirements aligned with customer doctrine, contractual requirements and MRO workflows.Define and optimise spare-parts packages, special tools, test equipment and workshop support equipment for each platform variant and applicable maintenance level.Establish and operate a closed-loop FRACAS process covering failure reporting, screening, root-cause investigation, corrective action, effectiveness verification and formal closure.Analyse operational and maintenance data to monitor reliability, maintainability, operational availability, recurring failures and equipment downtime, and recommend evidence-based improvements.Manage proactive obsolescence and DMSMS monitoring, including risk assessment and mitigation through alternate sourcing, repair development, lifetime buy, reverse engineering or redesign, as technically and commercially appropriate.Develop and maintain ILS deliverables and technical documentation, coordinating with maintenance teams, engineering specialists, OEMs, Procurement, Quality, Legal and customer representatives to implement sustainment solutions.Minimum requirements of role:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.Demonstrated hands-on experience in Integrated Logistics Support, Product Support Analysis, FRACAS, reliability, maintainability and obsolescence management for complex systems.Working knowledge of applicable and contractually invoked standards, including MIL-HDBK-502A, MIL-HDBK-2155, SAE GEIA-STD-0007, IEC 62402, IEC 60812 and SAE GEIA-STD-0009.Experience in failure investigation, root-cause analysis, FMEA/FMECA and maintenance-data trending using measures such as MTBF, MTTR, recurring failure, downtime, and operational availability.Knowledge of maintenance-task analysis, LORA, RCM, spares analysis, technical manuals, drawings and maintenance records, with competence in CMMS/ERP data and analytical tools such as Excel or Power BI.Minimum of five years' relevant experience in ILS, Product Support Analysis, reliability, maintainability or MRO engineering, with at least two years in a defence, military vehicle, weapon-system or similarly complex safety-critical environment.Strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, attention to detail and sound technical judgement.Eligible for the security clearance and site-access requirements applicable to Saudi defence facilities.Clear written and verbal communication, stakeholder coordination and negotiation skills.Able to work independently within multidisciplinary teams, prioritise multiple cases, meet target dates, and work in office, workshop and field environments, including travel to customer or operational sites when required.
