Global Logistics & Trade Compliance ManagerLocation: Devens, MAWork Arrangement: On-site |Employment Type: Full-timeBase Salary: $123,000–$160,000 + Equity & BenefitsRole OverviewThe Global Logistics & Trade Compliance Manager will own the company’s end-to-end logistics and trade compliance function, including inbound/outbound freight, customs, carrier and 3PL relationships, hazardous materials logistics, and global trade compliance.Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain, this leader will manage a growing team initially consisting of a Trade Compliance Specialist and Import/Export Coordinator and will help build the function as the company scales.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute the global logistics strategy covering inbound/outbound freight, carriers, 3PLs, warehousing, and international trade lanes.Lead freight contract negotiations across parcel, LTL, FTL, air, and ocean freight.Own trade compliance, including HS/HTS classification, country of origin, ITAR, EAR, USTR filings, denied-party screening, and duty drawback.Manage customs brokers and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant import/export declarations.Develop tariff impact models and partner with Finance and Procurement to reduce tariff exposure.Oversee hazardous materials logistics, including titanium powder, packaging, carrier certifications, and DOT/IATA/IMDG compliance.Manage demurrage, detention, freight claims, and carrier performance; track KPIs including freight cost and on-time delivery.Implement and manage a Transportation Management System (TMS) to improve logistics visibility, optimization, and reporting.Build, lead, and develop the Logistics & Trade Compliance team.Establish SOPs, training, audit-readiness programs, and compliance processes across Supply Chain, Operations, and Engineering.Serve as the company’s subject matter expert for trade and logistics regulations, including ITAR classifications, export licenses, and customs audits.QualificationsBachelor’s degree required; Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or related field preferred.12+ years of progressive logistics and/or trade compliance experience, including 5+ years in a senior/director-level leadership role with direct reports.Experience building or leading logistics functions with significant freight-spend responsibility; $50M+ preferred.Deep knowledge of ITAR, EAR, U.S. export regulations, customs compliance, and international trade.Experience with TMS implementations, carrier negotiations, and 3PL management.Experience with hazardous materials logistics and DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations.Strong leadership, financial modeling, tariff analysis, budget management, and executive communication skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience in aerospace, defense, medical device, or advanced manufacturing, particularly ITAR/DFARS environments.Experience building logistics/trade compliance functions in a high-growth company.Experience with titanium, reactive metals, or other hazardous materials.Licensed U.S. Customs Broker, CUSECO, or equivalent certification.Experience managing international ocean freight and major trade lanes.Familiarity with Epicor, SAP GTS, Amber Road, or similar ERP/trade compliance platforms.CPSM, APICS CSCP, or equivalent certification.Compensation & Benefits$123,000–$160,000 base salary + equity, with comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, generous PTO, and a 401(k) with company match.
