Apply & track with Apply EdgeLogistics Manager | Multi-Site Warehouse OperationsBlack Diamond Coatings is looking for an experienced, hands-on Logistics Manager to lead daily warehouse and transportation operations across two locations.This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for keeping freight costs under control, customer commitments on track, inventory accurate, and warehouse teams performing at a high level. You’ll lead a team of approximately 15–20 employees while partnering closely with plant and corporate operations.Why this role mattersOn-time, in-full delivery to our retail customers starts at the dock. This role directly impacts customer satisfaction, freight spend, labor productivity, inventory accuracy, and our ability to scale efficiently.What You’ll OwnWarehouse OperationsLead daily receiving, storage, picking, packing, labeling, and shipping across two warehouse locations.Maintain inventory accuracy through FIFO, replenishment, slotting, cycle counting, and disciplined warehouse processes.Develop and enforce SOPs that improve consistency, safety, accuracy, and productivity.Keep both facilities organized, OSHA-compliant, and audit-ready.Use WMS, TMS, ERP, and data analytics tools to monitor performance and improve processes.Transportation & FreightSchedule inbound and outbound trucks to maximize dock utilization and reduce detention.Source, negotiate, and book LTL, FTL, parcel, and other freight services.Manage relationships with carriers, brokers, and 3PL partners.Analyze freight spend, lane performance, and carrier scorecards to identify savings opportunities.Resolve transportation delays, damages, claims, and service issues.Team LeadershipLead, coach, and develop a team of 15–20 warehouse associates, leads, and support staff.Partner with HR on recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training.Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular coaching and performance reviews.Manage staffing schedules, overtime, and labor allocation based on workload and seasonality.Build a culture centered on accountability, safety, customer service, and continuous improvement.Financial & Continuous ImprovementManage warehouse and logistics expenses including labor, freight, supplies, and equipment.Identify opportunities to reduce freight costs, improve labor utilization, and eliminate waste.Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Finance, and Operations.Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, 5S, or similar methodologies.How Success Will Be MeasuredYou’ll be accountable for metrics including:On-time, in-full delivery performanceOrder and shipping accuracyInventory accuracy and cycle-count varianceFreight cost per shipment / pound and as a percentage of revenueDock utilization and carrier detentionLabor productivity and overtimeWarehouse safety and OSHA complianceEmployee retention and engagementWhat We’re Looking ForRequired5+ years of progressive logistics, transportation, or warehouse management experienceMulti-site warehouse or logistics responsibility3+ years leading teams of 10+ employeesStrong knowledge of LTL, FTL, parcel, freight negotiation, and carrier managementWorking knowledge of WMS, TMS, and ERP systemsProficiency with Microsoft Excel and OutlookStrong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsAbility to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environmentAbility to travel regularly between warehouse locationsBachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience consideredPreferredExperience managing freight RFPs and carrier bidsExperience supporting large retail or big-box customers such as Lowe’s, The Home Depot, Walmart, or AmazonForklift certification or experience training forklift operatorsFamiliarity with DOT and warehouse safety regulationsLean, Six Sigma, APICS, or similar certificationMilitary veteran backgroundWork EnvironmentThis is a hands-on warehouse leadership position. The role requires regular time on the warehouse floor, working around forklifts and material-handling equipment, walking for extended periods, and lifting approximately 25–50 pounds as needed.
