Materials Planning & Logistics Manager / Materials Manager / Supply Chain Manager

Location: Smithfield, NCMaterials Planning & Logistics Manager / Materials Manager / Supply Chain Manager is required to join a leading manufacturing organisation, taking ownership of materials planning, procurement, warehousing, shipping, receiving and inventory control across the facility.This is a key leadership position responsible for managing the complete materials function, including ERP/MRP, master scheduling, supplier management, customer order management, transportation planning and inventory performance.Materials Planning & Logistics Manager / Materials Manager / Supply Chain Manager will lead teams across Shipping, Receiving, Traffic and Inventory Control while ensuring materials are available to support production schedules and customer delivery requirements.The role is suited to an experienced materials and supply chain leader who combines strong operational management with continuous improvement, supplier development and inventory control.

You will play a critical role in improving inventory turns, reducing excess and obsolete stock, controlling costs and developing a high-performing materials organisation.Materials Planning & Logistics Manager / Materials Manager / Supply Chain Manager Package$120,000 base salaryHealth insuranceDisability insuranceFull-time positionMaterials Planning & Logistics Manager / Materials Manager / Supply Chain Manager ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of materials planning, procurement, warehouse, shipping, receiving and inventory control functions.Manage ERP/MRP systems, master scheduling and supplier management activities.Lead, develop and structure teams across Shipping, Receiving, Traffic and Inventory Control.Ensure on-time customer delivery performance and effective customer order management.Manage customer transportation planning alongside manpower and facility requirements.Develop strategies to ensure continuous supply and timely procurement of raw materials and supplies.Manage inventory performance, reducing excess and obsolete stock while improving annual inventory turns.Establish procurement standards, policies and key supplier relationships.Drive cost reduction initiatives, technology improvements and continuous improvement activities.Manage supplier relationships and ensure supplier quality standards are achieved.Coordinate with customers, Project Managers and Production Managers to ensure materials are available in line with production schedules.Maintain accurate inventory cycle counts and material control processes.Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and material control systems in accordance with ISO procedures.Review, plan and approve purchase orders and change notices.Report regularly to senior management on objectives, performance, achievements and expectations.Train and develop teams around Lean principles and world-class materials management practices.Materials Planning & Logistics Manager / Materials Manager / Supply Chain Manager RequirementsStrong experience within materials planning, logistics, supply chain or materials management in a manufacturing environment.Proven experience managing procurement, inventory, warehousing, shipping and receiving functions.Strong ERP/MRP and master scheduling experience.Experience managing supplier relationships, procurement strategies and supplier quality standards.Proven ability to manage inventory performance, including cycle counts, excess and obsolete materials and inventory turns.Experience leading, coaching and developing teams across multiple materials and logistics functions.Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and world-class materials management principles.Experience developing and maintaining material control systems and procedures.Knowledge of ISO procedures and manufacturing compliance requirements.Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to work closely with production, project management, customers and senior leadership.
