Logistics Manager

Position SummaryPowerus is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to lead outbound logistics from our manufacturing facility in Rock Hill, South Carolina.This role is focused on getting finished products, components, batteries, equipment, and other materials safely and efficiently from our facility to customers across the United States and internationally.The successful candidate must have direct experience managing complex domestic and international shipments across air, sea, and land, including regulated dangerous goods.This is a hands-on operational role. We need someone who understands the paperwork, regulations, carriers, freight forwarders, customs processes, packaging requirements, and day-to-day problem solving required to move sensitive and time-critical products around the world.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn outbound logistics and shipping operations from the Rock Hill facility.Coordinate domestic and international shipments by air, sea, and land.Manage dangerous goods shipments, including lithium batteries and other regulated materials.Ensure shipments are correctly classified, packaged, marked, labeled, documented, and declared.Maintain dangerous goods procedures, shipping manuals, SOPs, documentation, and training requirements.Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, couriers, and specialist logistics providers.Prepare and oversee commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, air waybills, dangerous goods declarations, export documentation, and other shipping paperwork.Coordinate customs clearance and resolve shipment holds, documentation issues, and other transportation problems.Work closely with Manufacturing, Operations, Sales, Finance, Compliance, and customers to ensure orders ship accurately and on time.Establish scalable outbound logistics processes as manufacturing volumes increase.Maintain shipment records and provide clear tracking and reporting on outbound orders.Manage packaging and transportation requirements for high-value, sensitive, oversized, and regulated products.Support urgent and mission-critical shipments where speed and reliability are essential.Identify opportunities to improve shipping cost, lead time, carrier performance, and overall logistics efficiency.Experience & RequirementsDirect experience managing outbound logistics within manufacturing, aerospace, defense, automotive, electronics, industrial, or another complex physical-product environment.Current dangerous goods certification and demonstrable experience shipping regulated dangerous goods is required.Strong working knowledge of dangerous goods transportation requirements, including IATA/ICAO air requirements and applicable DOT hazardous materials regulations.Experience shipping lithium-ion and lithium-metal batteries is strongly preferred.Demonstrated experience with international freight and customs processes.Experience working directly with freight forwarders, customs brokers, airlines, ocean carriers, trucking companies, and specialist logistics providers.Strong understanding of shipping documentation, packaging, labeling, classification, and compliance.Comfortable operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where shipment requirements can change quickly.Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.Able to take ownership of a shipment from the factory floor through final delivery.Must be able to work full-time on-site in Rock Hill, SC.About PowerusPowerus is building a next-generation American autonomous systems company focused on advanced unmanned systems, defense technology, engineering, and manufacturing.We are entering a significant period of expansion, including the development of our approximately 300,000 sq. ft.
