Logistics Officer

Job description:Coordinate and Track Shipments: Once order requests or purchase orders are received, it is up to the Logistic Officer to manage the pulling and packing of materials and arrange appropriate transportation. Among the tasks that might need to be completed in this responsibility include freight consolidation, cost analysis, routing and scheduling. Logistic Officers must also track shipments to ensure they arrive on time and that shipment and delivery processes adhere to any pertinent regulations.He will work for a freight forwarder/agent or directly for an importer who is based in the country where goods are being delivered.He will be responsible for the movement of goods from another country, ensuring the transit and delivery is made on time. This means that will liaise regularly with overseas offices, partners or agents.He will be responsible for arranging and completing all associated paperwork, which documents the nature of the goods being imported from abroad and that they are legal and legitimate.Imports are generally subject to import quotas, tariffs, trade agreements and Customs regulations, so the role will involve checking all is in order in this respect.Understanding Saber platform and requirementsHe is responsible for costing jobs and ensuring maximum profitability for their organization.He required to check goods in as they arrive against paperwork to ensure all goods ordered are accounted for.Job requires establishing contacts and relationships with freight forwarder to ensure efficient transfer of goods through the legal process.Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policiesEnsure timely delivery of goods and services to meet customer needsCreating shipping/delivery routes and schedulesTracking shipment progressUnderstanding safety/security processes and proceduresAnalyze Supply Chain Systems: The Logistic Officer must ensure that all aspects of a logistics team, such as shipping, warehousing and procurement, are working together to fill orders and deliver materials on a timely basis.
