MUST HAVE:Secret Clearance (or previous Secret or Interim Secret)C++LinuxLegacy ModernizationSenior/Mid-Level Software Engineer (C/Linux Modernization)Position OverviewWe are seeking experienced Software Engineers to support a critical modernization effort for a mission-focused maintenance application supporting defence operations. The ideal candidate will have strong C++ development experience, a background working with legacy applications, and the ability to independently analyse and modernize complex software systems with limited documentation.ResponsibilitiesEnhance and modernize large legacy C+ applications.Migrate software from Solaris 32-bit environments to modern Linux/RHEL 64-bit platforms.Analyze and maintain existing codebases with limited documentation.Develop and maintain Oracle database integrations.Create and enhance SQL queries, stored procedures, and business logic.Perform unit testing using Google Test and adhere to software development standards.Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, PI planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.Collaborate with architects, developers, and product stakeholders to deliver modernization objectives.Support integration efforts involving REST APIs and modern application interfaces.Required QualificationsActive Secret Security Clearance.U.S. Citizenship.5+ years (Mid-Level) or 8+ years (Senior-Level) software development experience.Strong C++ programming experience.Experience developing on Linux or Unix platforms.Experience working with legacy applications and modernization projects.Oracle database development experience.Strong SQL and stored procedure experience.Experience with object-oriented design principles.Experience in Agile software development environments.Preferred QualificationsJava development experience.C# development experience.REST API development experience.OpenAPI familiarity.Experience supporting Department of Defense programs.Experience reverse engineering systems with limited documentation.Google Test experience.Work LocationOnsite4x10 work scheduleClearance RequirementActive Secret Clearance Required.
