We Who Wander serves individuals across life stages, including young adults and those who identify as “in-between,” such as people pleasers, black sheep, and neurodivergent individuals, helping them build insight, strengthen relationships, and move toward lasting change. Services are offered in Appleton, WI, with virtual options available throughout Wisconsin.Role Description The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) will provide individual psychotherapy to children (10+), teens, and adults, using evidence-informed, person-centered approaches aligned with the practice’s values and clinical standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting intake assessments, developing and updating treatment plans, maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation, and coordinating care with other providers when appropriate. The LPC will facilitate a safe, inclusive, and affirming therapeutic environment, support clients through life transitions and mental health concerns, and engage in ongoing case consultation and supervision as needed. Additional duties may include participating in practice meetings, contributing to program development or outreach, and staying current with best practices through continuing education. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Appleton, WI.QualificationsActive Wisconsin LPC license (or eligible for licensure) and compliance with all relevant professional and ethical standards. Must have professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain)Demonstrated experience providing individual counseling to children (8+), teens, and adults, preferably with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and identity-related concerns.Strong skills in assessment, treatment planning, and clinical documentation within an outpatient or private practice setting.Ability to use person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approaches, with comfort working with neurodivergent clients and those who feel “in-between.”Excellent interpersonal, communication, and rapport-building skills, with a commitment to creating an affirming, nonjudgmental therapeutic space.Capacity to manage a full-time caseload, maintain professional boundaries, and work both independently and collaboratively within a small practice environment.Proficiency or willingness to learn electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic technology used for scheduling and documentation.Master’s degree in counseling or a related mental health field from an accredited institutionResponsibilitiesConduct thorough diagnostic evaluations and intake assessments utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to accurately identify mental health conditions.Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based therapies such as psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and play therapy.Provide individual, couples, group, and family sessions to address a wide range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, life transitions, PTSD, grief, ADHD, etc.Utilize telehealth technology to deliver remote counseling services while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensuring patient confidentiality.Participate in regular collaboration/consultation with team members and other related mental health professionals as appropriate while maintaining client confidentialityMaintain timely clinical documentation and abide by ACA and WI ethical standardsWhat We OfferFlexible scheduleFurnished office spaceCredentialing, billing, administrative, and marketing supportCEU accessSteady referral opportunitiesCollaborative practice cultureFreedom to practice authentically and independentlyThis is a 1099 independent contractor position.Clinicians are paid a percentage of collected revenue, with earnings typically ranging from $60-$80+ per completed session, depending on licensure, self pay, and reimbursement rates. Frequency of pay based on contractors preference (monthly or bimonthly).
