M&A Senior Associate/Manager

The OpportunityMaven Partners is partnering with a fast-growing, Melbourne-based firm to recruit a Senior Associate or Manager into their impressive Lead Advisory team.Under the guidance of the experienced Head of the team, the successful applicant will be heavily involved in the day-to-day management of the M&A process on behalf of clients and will play a role in business development and market research.ResponsibilitiesClient Work and Project Delivery: Partner closely with senior leaders in the Corporate Finance team to oversee deal mandates and advisory projects. You’ll shape and communicate financial recommendations that align with client objectives across both M&A advisory and due diligence assignments.Team Leadership: Guide and develop a small, high-performing group of Analysts, ensuring they have the clarity, support and feedback needed to deliver strong outcomes.Relationship Development: Build and maintain genuine, long-term relationships with clients, internal stakeholders and team members to create an environment of trust and collaboration.Commercial and Technical Advisory: Use your financial analysis and modelling expertise to help clients understand key value drivers, risks and potential upside, ultimately informing critical decision-making.Business Growth: Play an active role in identifying new work opportunities through existing relationships and developing new ones, contributing to the continued expansion of the practice.Strategic Team Contribution: Contribute to the direction and development of the broader Corporate Finance offering, working with leaders across service lines to bring integrated solutions to market.RequirementsTertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a comparable discipline. Postgraduate study (such as a Masters or MBA) is viewed favourably, as is progress toward a recognised professional designation (for example CA, CPA or CFA).A minimum of two years’ experience gained within investment banking, corporate finance advisory, or a deals-related practice in a professional services environment.Genuine interest in, and understanding of, mergers and acquisitions, financial analysis, corporate finance theory and broader capital markets.Demonstrated experience supporting or leading transaction mandates across areas such as M&A, valuation engagements, or capital advisory projects.Strong capability in financial modelling, scenario analysis and valuation methodologies, with the ability to interpret and communicate findings clearly.Maven PartnersMaven Partners is a specialist financial advisory, accounting and taxation recruitment services business.
