Overview:We are seeking an M&V (Measurement & Verification) Engineer to support the development and execution of Measurement & Verification (M&V) activities across energy efficiency and performance projects. The successful candidate will develop M&V plans, analyze energy savings, perform field measurements, and prepare reports to verify project performance in accordance with industry standards such as IPMVP and FEMP.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement Measurement & Verification (M&V) Plans for energy performance projects.Conduct field measurements and inspections, including power, flow, temperature, combustion efficiency, and data logging.Analyze utility, equipment, and trend data to verify energy savings and system performance.Review and validate energy savings calculations using tools such as Excel, eQuest, HAP, or similar energy modeling software.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual M&V reports for clients and internal stakeholders.Support Investment Grade Audits (IGAs) by developing M&V methodologies and technical documentation.Ensure M&V activities comply with IPMVP, FEMP, and other applicable industry standards.Coordinate with engineering, construction, and project management teams throughout project execution.Participate in client meetings and present M&V strategies and project findings.Travel to project sites as required for inspections and data collection (up to 25%).RequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, or a related Engineering discipline.Minimum 4 years of engineering experience, with at least 1 year specifically focused on Measurement & Verification (M&V), energy analytics, or energy engineering.Working knowledge of IPMVP and FEMP M&V methodologies.Experience analyzing building systems, utility data, HVAC, controls, lighting, renewable energy systems, or other Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience interpreting large datasets.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with energy modeling software such as eQuest or HAP is preferred.Professional certifications such as EIT, CMVP, or CEM are preferred.Strong communication and report-writing skills with the ability to present technical information to clients and project teams.Ability to manage multiple projects while working independently and collaboratively.Preferred ExperienceExperience supporting Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPCs) or Utility Energy Service Contracts (UESCs).Familiarity with HVAC systems, controls, utility metering, renewable energy systems, and building automation systems.Experience conducting site inspections, commissioning support, or energy audits.
