We use artificial intelligence and machine learning to help businesses make exceptional decisions with their visual data. We typically process images, video and LiDAR data, as well as multi-band satellite imagery. We are the UK’s biggest processor of visual transmission line data. About the roleAs a senior member of the development team, you will be at the centre of solving complex technical challenges using machine learning, neural networks and traditional computer vision. You will be developing models and data pipelines, as well as improving our in-house model prototyping tools. You’ll work closely with key technical and business leaders to develop the business’s offerings and foster an atmosphere of learning and innovation. This role is ideal for a professional with a passion for applying ML & CV techniques in the real world.Your key responsibilities will be to:Design and develop tailored computer vision architectures and machine learning workflows that best solve the problem at hand.Lead and manage the end-to-end model lifecycle Improve our dataset management and data pipelines using industry best practicesParticipate in code reviews to ensure code quality and mentor othersProactively propose innovative technical solutions for new projects and research initiatives. About YouWe are looking for a driven and technically strong professional who brings innovation and initiative, and is comfortable taking the lead on complex computer vision projects. You possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, alongside the ability to apply rigorous logic to real-world challenges. You are also an effective communicator who can translate complex technical information to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.EssentialRight to work in the UKA PhD (or near completion) in a relevant field, or a Master's degree combined with strong equivalent research or industry experience.Strong knowledge of machine learning and computer vision algorithms, with software engineering experience.Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in computer vision pipelinesExperience with SOTA architectures, including multi-modal models, vision and language transformersExpert knowledge of Python, Pytorch, MLFlow, NumPy, OpenCV and related librariesExperience with packaging tools (poetry, conda, pyenv, uv, etc)Strong knowledge of version control tools (git, Github)Experience with cloud platforms and containerisation (Docker, GCP) for scalable deploymentsDesirable 3D Computer Vision & Spatial Analytics: Experience working with 3D datasets, multi-view geometry, 3D reconstruction, and projecting 2D images onto 3D models.Experience training self-supervised foundation models and implementing efficient fine-tuning pipelines.Experience with DVC, Pytorch Lightning, LabelStudioWhat we offerWe offer a competitive salary in the range of £65,000 - £80,000 depending on your experience. The role also comes with the benefit of remote/hybrid work (with requirements to come to the office 2 days per week), company health insurance and 10 personal development days in addition to standard annual leave.
