The PositionJoin ALTEN Nederland as a Senior Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer in the AdTech – Customer Tech Platform – Orchestration team. You’ll work on a scalable retail media SaaS platform for global brands helping advertisers optimize campaigns across digital and physical channels.This role focuses on production-grade machine learning systems, Generative AI, RAG, and agentic AI concepts. You’ll contribute to our AI strategy roadmap while ensuring quality, governance, and operational feasibility.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and improve cutting-edge data science solutions for intelligent retail media capabilities.Perform data analysis and reporting to support product, business, and technical decision-making.Collaborate with Data Scientists, Backend Developers, QA Engineers, and Product stakeholders in multidisciplinary teams.Assess GenAI applications for the retail media platform, focusing on quality, governance, and operational feasibility.Contribute to agentic AI concepts, including API integrations, tool use, and autonomous system workflows.Establish evaluation practices for AI systems, such as prompt evaluation, LLM-as-a-judge, and hallucination monitoring.Your ProfileEducation and Experience:Extensive experience as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, or Python Developer in production-grade systems.Skills:Strong Python development skills with experience in GitHub and CI/CD practices.Full lifecycle expertise in machine learning/data science services, including experimentation, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.Strong data analysis skills with the ability to translate insights into product and business decisions.Familiarity with agentic AI, including tool use, function calling, API integration, and autonomous system risks.Experience with AI evaluation methods, such as prompt testing, LLM-as-a-judge, and drift monitoring.Knowledge of API integrations (GraphQL, OAuth, Keycloak) and event-driven architectures (Java/Kotlin is a plus).Language:Fluent in English (required).Working ConditionsLocation: Hybrid, 1 day per week in presence.Type: Permanent contract.Team: AdTech – Customer Tech Platform – Orchestration.What We OfferContribute to a scalable retail media SaaS platform used by global brands.Shape the future of AI-driven retail media with Generative AI, RAG, and agentic AI.Work in multidisciplinary teams with Data Scientists, Developers, and Product stakeholders.Develop production-grade AI solutions and advance your career in a dynamic environment.About ALTENALTEN is a global leader in engineering and technology consulting, driving innovation across industries.
