🚀 Machine Learning Engineer LLMs, Deep Learning & Agentic SystemsDefence Tech | UKAre you a Machine Learning Engineer who enjoys solving difficult technical problems and building systems that perform reliably in the real world?I'm working with an ambitious, VC-backed start-up developing cutting-edge technology for defence and national security.They're looking for exceptional Machine Learning Engineers who combine strong theoretical foundations with the engineering ability to take complex models from research through to production.🔧 The technical challenges:Design, develop and optimise advanced ML models for demanding real-world applicationsBuild LLM-based agents capable of reasoning, planning and executing complex tasksWork across multimodal learning, computer vision and real-time sensor dataImprove model performance, inference efficiency and reliabilityTake ownership of systems from experimentation through to production deploymentSolve challenging problems around scalability, robustness and deployment in constrained environments🎯 What we're looking for:Strong foundations in machine learning, deep learning and applied mathematicsExperience training, fine-tuning or deploying production-grade modelsExcellent programming skills in Python, with Rust, C++ or Java advantageousStrong experience with PyTorch, JAX or TensorFlowKnowledge of LLMs, transformer architectures, model optimisation or agentic systemsThe ability to turn complex research into reliable, production-ready softwareBonus points for a PhD, publications at NeurIPS, ICML or ICLR, or experience working in secure, regulated or resource-constrained environments.📍 UK | Office-first with flexibility🔒 UK right to work and eligibility for SC clearance required.
