Mainframe System Analyst

We are seeking an experienced System Analyst / Business Systems Analyst to support the development and maintenance of a Life Insurance Contract Management System. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of life insurance operations, experience working with business users and development vendors, and the ability to drive system improvements from requirements gathering through user acceptance testing.Key ResponsibilitiesGather and analyze business requirements by collaborating with internal business users and identifying opportunities for process improvements.Evaluate business requirements and recommend optimal system solutions aligned with organizational strategy.Define system requirements and coordinate with development vendors throughout the design, development, testing, and implementation lifecycle.Create User Acceptance Test (UAT) scenarios and execute acceptance testing for vendor deliverables.Support incident management by investigating issues, coordinating resolutions, and ensuring timely communication with stakeholders.Continuously identify operational challenges and propose system or process improvements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery and ongoing system enhancements.Technical EnvironmentIBM MainframeCOBOLDB2Required Skills & ExperienceMust HaveStrong knowledge of Life Insurance business processes.Minimum 3 years of experience in system development and maintenance within a Life Insurance company.Experience in one or more of the following domains:Policy Administration / Contract ManagementPremium BillingPolicy MaintenanceActuarial SystemsProduct ManagementStrong business-level Japanese communication skills (English proficiency is an advantage).Experience working with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.Ability to coordinate with development vendors and manage system implementation activities.Preferred Qualifications3+ years of experience as a System Analyst, Business Analyst, or a similar role.Hands-on experience with IBM Mainframe development, including design, development, and testing.Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.Experience working with external vendors and managing vendor deliverables.Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
