The role will focus on ensuring that aviation facilities, equipment, systems, maintenance processes, and operational resources are ready for safe and effective operations prior to transition to the operational team.Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate maintenance and equipment readiness activities as part of the overall ORAT program.
- Develop and maintain maintenance readiness plans, equipment readiness schedules, and transition requirements.
- Review facility and equipment design to ensure operability, maintainability, accessibility, reliability, and lifecycle requirements are adequately addressed.
- Identify and track equipment and maintenance readiness requirements through construction, testing, commissioning, and operational handover.
- Coordinate with operational stakeholders to define maintenance requirements, procedures, staffing, training, spare parts, tools, and consumables.
- Develop and maintain asset registers, equipment databases, tagging requirements, and maintenance data required for operational readiness.
- Review and validate preventive and corrective maintenance strategies, maintenance plans, and maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate the development and review of O&M manuals, maintenance procedures, equipment documentation, warranties, spare parts lists, and technical handover records.
- Support testing, commissioning, operational trials, demonstrations, and readiness exercises to verify equipment and systems are operationally ready.
- Participate in ORAT inspections, readiness assessments, operational demonstrations, and scenario-based exercises.
- Identify equipment and maintenance-related readiness gaps, risks, and constraints, and develop and track corrective actions.
- Coordinate with the Contractor, equipment suppliers, operators, and Client stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of equipment and maintenance readiness issues.
- Support the development and implementation of maintenance training and competency requirements for operational and maintenance personnel.
- Verify the availability of critical spares, specialist tools, consumables, equipment, and maintenance resources prior to operational commencement.
- Support asset acceptance, operational handover, and transition from the project delivery team to the operator.
- Coordinate with ORAT workstreams to ensure maintenance and equipment requirements are integrated with operations, facilities, ICT, security, HSE, and other operational functions.
- Support the development and execution of operational readiness and transition activities.
- Prepare readiness reports, dashboards, risk registers, action trackers, and management updates related to maintenance and equipment.
- Ensure maintenance and equipment readiness activities comply with aviation regulations, authority requirements, project standards, and operational procedures.Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aviation Engineering, or related discipline.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in maintenance, equipment engineering, asset management, operational readiness, or airport operations.
- Proven experience in aviation/airport projects, preferably with direct involvement in ORAT or operational transition programs.
- Strong understanding of ORAT principles, operational readiness, activation, transition, and facility handover.
- Experience developing and implementing maintenance strategies, asset registers, preventive maintenance programs, and O&M requirements.
- Experience coordinating equipment readiness, testing and commissioning, operational trials, training, and handover activities.
- Knowledge of airport facilities, aviation systems, specialist equipment, and operational interfaces is highly desirable.
- Experience working with airport operators, maintenance teams, Contractors, equipment suppliers, Designers, and Client stakeholders.
- Familiarity with asset management, maintenance management, and equipment lifecycle requirements.
