Maintenance Research Manager

Key ResponsibilitiesReliability & Continuous ImprovementLead maintenance improvement initiatives and Lean/Six Sigma projects to enhance equipment reliability, increase OEE, and optimize energy efficiency across cable manufacturing operations.Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement sustainable solutions to improve operational performance.Root Cause Analysis & Problem SolvingConduct detailed Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) on recurring equipment and process failures.Develop and implement long-term corrective actions to eliminate chronic issues and improve asset reliability.Maintenance Engineering & InnovationResearch, evaluate, and introduce advanced maintenance technologies, predictive maintenance tools, and reliability-centered solutions.Drive the adoption of condition-monitoring techniques including vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication analysis, and other predictive methodologies.Cost Optimization & Asset ManagementAnalyze maintenance costs and equipment lifecycle performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.Support repair-versus-replacement decisions and evaluate alternative sourcing, local manufacturing, and vendor optimization strategies.Maintenance Standards & Technical DocumentationDevelop and enhance maintenance engineering standards, SOPs, FMEA studies, and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs.Ensure maintenance best practices are documented, standardized, and effectively implemented across operations.Capital Projects & Technology DevelopmentSupport the evaluation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment, production technologies, and automation solutions.Collaborate with plant leadership to drive modernization and long-term operational excellence initiatives.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.6–10 years of experience in industrial plant maintenance, reliability engineering, or maintenance research within a manufacturing environment.Proven experience in maintenance engineering, reliability, continuous improvement, and technical research functions.Strong knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, RCFA, FMEA, and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodologies.Hands-on experience with predictive maintenance technologies, including vibration analysis, thermography, and condition monitoring systems.Experience supporting capital projects, equipment upgrades, and manufacturing automation initiatives.
