Maintenance Supervisor

Lead Our Fleet Maintenance Operations at ServiTradePosition based in Pemba, Mozambique. Successful candidate will be required to relocate!We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and safety-focused Maintenance Supervisor to take charge of our equipment fleet maintenance operations. In this mid-senior leadership role, you will oversee front-line maintenance technicians and contractors, ensuring our heavy equipment and machinery operate at peak performance, safety, and reliability across our shop and project sites.Working under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager, you will be granted significant autonomy and independent judgment to drive departmental efficiency, manage preventative maintenance programs, and develop a highly skilled technical workforce.What You Will DoFleet & Operational ExcellenceDrive Preventive Maintenance (PM): Develop, establish, and monitor robust PM schedules to maximize equipment reliability, performance, and rental-ready status.Oversee Repairs & Inspections: Direct maintenance and repair activities both in the workshop and on project sites. Ensure all machinery undergoes comprehensive annual inspections and calibrations in compliance with manufacturer and government standards.Manage Asset Lifecycle: Oversee inbound and outbound equipment inspections, monitor warranty compliance, and participate in equipment evaluations to advise management on buy/sell needs.Maintain Quality Standards: Ensure workshop facilities across all locations are clean, functional, and fully optimized for safe daily operations.Leadership & Team ManagementLead & Develop: Train, coach, discipline, and mentor maintenance mechanics to foster a high-performing, safety-first culture.Track Productivity: Establish clear productivity expectations, monitor daily activity, and review employee training needs to build a premier mechanic workforce.Administrative Oversight: Verify and approve daily timesheets, manage shift schedules, and authorize overtime or off-hour work as required.Safety First: Enforce strict adherence to all workplace safety practices and compliance requirements across the department.Strategic Planning & ReportingCost & Inventory Control: Review and authorize initial parts and consumable purchases, forecast future inventory needs, and identify reliable sources for fueling, spare parts, and site repairs.Data-Driven Insights: Maintain detailed historical maintenance files and generate monthly reports analyzing operational costs and return on investment.Collaborative Leadership: Actively participate in weekly department meetings to discuss fleet status, team achievements, and continuous improvement strategies while maintaining strong relationships across all company divisions.What We Are Looking ForExperience & EducationA minimum of 3 years of hands-on work experience in preventive and corrective maintenance techniques, combined with professional, technical, or administrative training.Highly Desirable: Manufacturer-certified technical training on Liebherr, Grove, or Terex cranes.Technical Skills & CertificationsStrong proficiency in MS Office and working experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software.Valid Driver’s License.Key CompetenciesComplex Problem-Solving: Ability to navigate technical challenges on involved projects, evaluate complex factors with little precedent, and exercise outstanding initiative and independent judgment.High Integrity: Trusted to handle confidential and proprietary operational data with the utmost discretion and professionalism.Why Join ServiTrade?At ServiTrade, we empower our leaders with the operational autonomy needed to make a tangible impact.
